Since we tow with an actual body on frame truck that is designed to pull heavy things and not a unibody MiniVan that Dodge calls an "SUV" I really dont have problems /w rattle. But if I did this looks like a good solution as well https://www.bwtrailerhitches.com/product/silencer-pad

Seems a bit easier than bolting and unbolting the hitch clamp, and B&W Generally makes good stuff.

I need on of these but probably wont get one, just because I'm constantly swapping out. I keep a 1.7/8ths, a 2" and 2.5/16ths and use all 3 all the time and they rattle like crazy!

But this is a good find!

Have you looked at the B&W hitch? I have a 10,000 pound limit version, but you can get them with over 20,000 pound limits and you can get them with one, two, or three ball options. I have the 2 5/16 and 2", but they also have one that has three and it includes the 1 7/8. Here is a video showing the 3 ball version and he talks about the company. It sounds like a good company, but I bought it because I liked the product.



This video gives you a solution to avoid theft of the pins. Expensive, but sounds like they are well built.

Another hitch type to look at is GenY. I bought one last summer in the 2” shank and its rated for 16,000lbs. The 2.5” shank is 21,000lbs and the 3” is 36,000lbs. The hitch itself weighs something like 45 pounds so it takes a heck of a bump to make it rattle! Plus because of the design you can use your existing 2” receivers if you need to for some reason. It the last hitch that I will ever buy. The one I bought came with a block that slides out for a pintle style hitch. Most of the trailers I pull have pintle hitch so not I don’t have to change hitches.

I have the 10K B&W as well. It's expensive and worth it.
