That is interesting. While it’s hard to imagine needing an R3 to get up on plane faster than the 3 seconds mine takes with a VP 350, I find that with a full tank of gas my boat does tend to ride a bit bow high until I’ve burned off half a tank. I’d like to see the fuel tank a bit further forward, if possible.

Anyway, it will be interesting to see what they come up with.

My source shall remain nameless, but they have actually driven the R6 on the water. Let's see what happens

Hmm interesting you notice that in your R3. I do not in my R7. Could be because I've got a larger fuel tank 78 gallons compared to 50. That is one reason that turned me to the R7 over the R5. I wanted the larger fuel tank.

It could be that 350 weighs more than the stock engine they test the boat with and give specs with. Or put a 380 in and give it full throttle. You will never notice it again😅 Or the Volvo props are not lifting the transom. I would get me props😂😂

Could be the dealers did give some feed back and they changed some things on the A29, but not the reason they delayed the launch.

First problem was the display screens and them having to go back to Garmins. Second MAJOR issue was with the stringer design. They tried something new (which is what they do on A series boats) and went with a "grid" style stringer system. Well, it rode like $h!# and you could feel every single wave. So they had to go back to the original stringer system to allow more flex of the hull to absorb the pounding.

with regards to the new R series boats I bet they do show us something at the Miami show. especially where they've already showed them to the dealers in the fall.

I was down at my marina in early January. I was 99% positive I saw a new R series sitting on the lot with a mooring cover on it. The reason I think it was a new R series boat was from the hull design. Looked just like the couple pictures I've seen.

Yes, the attempt to move from Garmin was not good and it did take a while to revamp. I had not heard about the stringer issue but makes sense. Most of what I was told was referring the interior design and function.

Always take everything with a grain of salt I guess. In the case of Cobalt chat banter make it a very large grain of salt with a margarita chaser
