202 Condurre 1990 Ski Pylon/eye
Good morning. I recently purchased a new to me 202 Condurre. The boat is in great shape for its age and I know the previous two owners who were meticulous in everything about it. The problem is that it didn't come with the ski tow rope eye. I can't believe that no one seems to carry one, or that there aren't photos of how they were mounted but here I am. At face value, it looks like the pylon went through a 1" pocket and I'm guessing, extended below deck where it fixed to something behind the engine. There are several general used ones for sale on Ebay right now that seem to be at least some kind of match. 17" long, 1" in diameter, with a triangular shaped bracket that would bolt at two points in the transom somewhere but these could have been for any boat on the planet and at $150, I want to be sure. Does anyone have any advice or a photo of what I should be looking for?
BTW, I've e-mailed about 10 dealerships and they all say the same thing. Not manufactured, no stock.
Thanks for your help.
Scott

.
Hello Scotty1998. Welcome to the CobaltChat forum. So glad you found us!
Sorry to hear about your ski pylon/eye woes. That would be frustrating.
Maybe some pics of the area would help us to identify what could work. Unfortunately Cobalt stops stocking parts after 7 years for any model. Have you tried Great Lakes Skipper? Occasionally they will have some old stock that could work or an aftermarket product that is similar.
Others will chime in shortly. Again welcome aboard mate!

Thanks for the welcome and suggestion. Yes, I've tried GreatLakes. The weird thing is that it looks like they used this mounting system in all of their models from the late 80's all the way up to 2000.
Here's a photo of the part on a similar boat.

No Worries. It's better to just copy the pic (or download it to your device) and then upload the photo to the forum ( vs using a link).
I saved the image and uploaded it for ya'
Any pics inside where it attaches to the transom?

Thank you!!! I'm heading to the lift tonight and will snap a few. So far, I've come up short for the transom. There is literally nothing obvious but maybe it will become clear once I poke around. I'd be shocked if it wasn't a threaded rod type setup.

It's a big ass threaded rod, washer, and Nylock nut. And you'll need an extra elbow to get up there to loosen/tighten it up.

Re: 202 Condurre 1990 Ski Pylon/eye
Update: As akorcovelos indicated, yes, it's a big assed threaded rod. I thought that I was looking for a 1/4" aluminum angled plate mount similar to what the 2000's boats have but, no. Cobalt molded a 3/4" thick fiberglass pocket that the tow eye mounts through. All it is is a setup similar to a standard ball hitch only, the ball is the tow eye. I ordered a 1" female threaded tow eye off of ebay and a 1"-14 x 4" threaded rod off of McMaster. Two 1" flat washers and a lock washer and nut to complete the project. Back in the saddle. Total project cost was under $50.
Thanks everyone for your help.

great job! We need Slide to engineer us a quick release setup so we can use his umbrella holder like all the new fancy Cobalts!
