This was the only timing light that autozone had. I asked for one with dial or digital.

How do I post a video. Do I have to put it on YouTube and link to it?

I like your steel toe work boots😂👢
Yes utube is the best way. That light doesn't have a timing advance dial. So as long as you set it to the 8 degree mark on you balancer your good. With the term grounded.

I got a few more videos I will share. Now I am starting on using the 3 step Marine 31 oxidation kit to clean up the outside! I am so sore today. Did 1st 2 steps on front half of the boat. What a difference!

Thanks for the vid upload TCG. Sounding good.

Btw, if you click on the youtube radio button you'll see these brackets...... ... and then just copy only the letter-number combo .......8TGF_7GFm8A.......... from the end of your youtube link and insert between those brackets. Your youtube vid will appear on the site without having to navigate away. :geek:

Or I'll just fix them for ya'. :)

Keep 'em coming!

Yes I bet being hunched over for 2 weeks and now buffing and polishing you will be done. Just be glad it's a little boat. Nice job getting her going. Glad you had the confidence to do it. I hope we helped us through it.

Yes I couldn’t have (and wouldn’t have tackled it) without your help and advice. Much appreciated! I owe you all a beer!

Wanted to close the loop on this project. Took the boat out today for 4 hours of cruising and the boat ran like a champ! Performance is back and runs great and never got above 170 degrees.

New problem (very minor) the power steering lines appear to have a leak. Not sure if it is coming from where it goes from hose to stainless tube or the hose where it runs up against the exhaust pipes. But got low on fluid and have some in the bottom of the boat so going to need to pull the hoses and inspect and possibly replace. Wish I had known this when I had more working room.

I did get a little nervous and double checked the engine oil and it is still full so not engine oil in the bottom.

Hope everyone is doing well! Great day on the lake in Texas!

That's great news on the engine. I would pull the engine to replace the pwr str line it's much easier that way.
Without seeing how those lines are ran I can't help much. It could just be a loose hose clamp. But sure of that system has a pwr str cooler but mine leaked at that fitting and I just added a second clamp to help it out. Keep us up to date and congrats on getting back out on the water.

Well, I just had this issue unfortunately, I hope it’s not the same as mine, just had the engine pulled and the upper end rebuilt, cracked head.

Aslan, still stinging. Got 100 gallon of Premium gas very early at a small marina. 30 minutes later, get detonation in both motors , port motor stops running, limp home on starboard. Call mechanic, treat gas new fuel filters etc. tank gets down to half, detonation comes back at 2,000 rpm in both motors. Drain a bunch of gas, treat, new fuel filters.

Memorial Day weekend, runs well Friday and Saturday, Sunday tank get below half and I am running 50ish headed back to get boat up...detonation in port..couple of cylinders with bad pressure.

Two lousy choices 1) crate motor or 2) winter rebuild lose season. Take curtain two to save thousands. Boat had been flawless until that tank of gas.

However, she is fixed and ran fantastic last weekend, won’t get gas anywhere but big marinas and will wait as late as I can to fill up...let someone else get the winter gas. She stays in the dry stack, had her on the service rack to wax. Guy asked if she was new!

Well I feel better...been holding that in. Full year of dry stack storage, insurance, 3 trips to mechanic, 2/3 season with no boat, summer at lake house with no boat, and a rebuild on a 300 hour motor.

Ahh roger that. Was thinking this just recently happened after extended winter storage. Whew.

You’re right. Still painful though.
