Found the 2014. Dealer is quick with their listings. Lol. It's 24SD with the 320hp Volvo Penta V8 and DuoProp. Has 132 hours on it. Starting price is 61.5k. Trailer is included. It's probably out of the price range but what do you think? Just for grins lol. Here's a link to the listing.

2 totally diff boats. The SD has a huge bow. They are not very common. Resale isn't as good on them. It will ride much diff then the 220. Totally diff hull design. But sure on the deadrise I didn't look. Do they want something that big? It will feel bigger than a 220. It's it worth a extra 10k to them? Both are great looking boats though.

Finally....lol

Parents were able to take a test ride on their home lake. Dad, Mom, and dealer all went out. Haven’t talked to my dad yet about his thoughts but did a little with my mom. She thought it was a really nice boat and ride. Said that the bow is a little tighter than what we’ve got now(a 1994 Century 2100 DC if anyone is interested in some light Googling). Said that the cockpit was roomy though. As far as the ride she said it was smooth as could be and I guess you could call her chop sensitive lol. We boat on Lake Conroe outside of Houston if anyone is familiar with the area and Conroe is a pretty rough lake. Her direct quote “ I’m telling you—it was really rough but that dang boat cut through it like a hot knife through butter.” I asked her what she thought of the power and she said my Dad “got after it” as far as take-offs and speed went so she thought it was just fine.

Stuck at 50k though. Consignee isn’t moving from the 50. Tried for 47.5 and no dice. TBH looks like this is gonna be the one. Will report back with Dads thoughts/purchase outcomes/photos.

I hated the gap on the cover around the tower and had it altered this spring. It is much better now

Nice change to the cover. I'd like to do something like that to our snap on cockpit cover. When it rains, water runs around the tower base and onto the cockpit sole near the transom walk through and soaks the carpet. I've learned to unsnap the carpet and fold it back when I leave the boat moored. A tighter fit like you've got would be better.

Welp...I made it out to Conroe today! Absolutely love the boat. We were out around 2 hours running the whole time. Can't believe the difference from our old boat. I mean we had a 2 stroke Yammy 200...24 years old.

The 280 was perfect. We drove all around the lake and it ran great. There were a few times I found myself advancing the throttle and was like "oh snap this thing wants to go." Ride was great as well and handling was good too. Did some ski runs and hard over turns to pick up the skier weren't a problem and the wake was fine too.

There were two gripes I did have however. Number 1 is the tower Bimini. Man that thing was a pain to figure out which rods go where etc. Thank goodness the launch units have such high roofs. I told my dad that thing is never coming down now lol. Number 2 is we've got to figure out the throttle friction adjustment. It was pretty tight but we know it can be adjusted.

And just a little cool thing I noticed... Evidently the boat was a custom order for the previous owner. Just to the right of the transom walk thru was a stainless steel plate engraved by Cobalt with the original owner's name on that said something to the effect of this is a Cobalt boat built for the ________ family.

Whole family loves the new boat

Very cool. Yes that 280 is something. It's crazy the power they get out of it. That plate is made for all of the new owners. If you call the factory they might even make a new one for your family. Congrats!
