IL Newbie- Lower Fox River
IL Newbie- Lower Fox River
Hello-
I’m very excited to say we became first time Cobalt owners late fall last year. We have lived on the lower Fox River for 15 years and had two awesome pontoon boats, but got the itch for speed. We picked up our 2007 252 in Graham, North Carolina from a very nice couple who kept it in storage and trailered each trip to several lakes in the area. They bought it from the original owner who stored it on the water in Lake Murray, SC (their names scribed on the helm plaque) It’s a gem and just needs some tender loving care. I’m looking forward to dropping it in the water in a few weeks! I’ve spent hours inspecting all systems and reducing by checklist by the day. BTW- big huge thanks to Chris Bruno www.slideruleracing.com as he supplied the fix to repair both seats! I admit I have been a web troller up to this point. I look forward to meeting each of you via our forum. Thanks and hope everyone stays safe and healthy during this time. BTW we’re always up for visiting boaters once we get through this.

Welcome from Channel Lake! I believe you all are no wake still, hopefully these storms go south of us. Lower river has really gotten the bad end of the stick the last few years.

Welcome from California!
Thats a sweet looking 252, and I see she Merc powered? 496? We look forward to seeing more pics.
Plus the captains report as I’m not sure you’ve had her out yet?
May the weather be your friend, and we’ll all be tearing it up soon!

Absolutely, I’ll add few more pics. It’s got the 496 HO 360 hrs. Had to refurb paint, gimbal, bellows, etc on drive when it was winterized. Took ride last great day of Oct on Lake Geneva, WI. Usually rough but no one was out and it handled so well. Had 10 onboard and it ripped out of the water and planed so quickly. I love it

Great pics. 496 MagHO is the bomb. You'll enjoy that extra horsepower.

Welcome from Oklahoma! I really like what you did to the dash. And that "blue angel" look is awesome!

Re: IL Newbie- Lower Fox River
That's a cool reference for replacement dashes. This stuff needs to get tagged and put something on this site!
How did you find them? If you don't mind was it very expensive? Because as we replace our out of date depth finders and radio controls this would be great to have made to replace the factory panels.
