Our new R5 Surf on Lake Lanier :)

Post by HairyGorilla »

Hi All,

Just wanted to say hello as I'm new to the forum! My wife and I just bought a 2020 R5 Surf which is kept on Lake Lanier. We actually got it last fall but just found the forum!

We really fell in love with the size, versatility of surf vs cruising (lanier gets rough), color combo, and layout. Oh, and my inlaws bought an R35 a couple years ago which really sold us on the brand.

Looking forward to meeting others on this board and helping where possible.

P.S. I included a picture of our old Sea Ray which we are upgrading from.

Nice HG....thanks for doing that.

Great color combo. You're going to love the step up from the Sea Ray. Smiles on their faces say it all too.

VP 380 power in your surf? Post up an engine pic if you get a chance.

I'm sure some Surfing pics will follow this summer. 8-)

Thanks again for starting the thread.

That's awesome. welcome and thanks also!
I like the wake Ramos in the water in frt of the marina!
I can't believe you down sized from that big beast you parked next to at the marina. That's got to be a huge adjustment 🤔

I've already been surfing a few times (last fall + twice this season :)), will share some pictures later!

We only got the base 350 however very happy with it. It's still extremely powerful and has no trouble ripping me out of the water harder than I want

Hah! Lake Lanier has some absurdly large boats for the size of the lake. We always question the folks with the 40+ ft sea worthy, yacht certified beasts

Welcome from California!
Great combo and sharp colors!( maybe it’s the Red?).

Let’s hear about Lanier... you know the on water restaurants, night hangouts party and party coves .

My wife has been on Lanier her whole life. We've got some favorite restaurants but always looking for the fun coves if anyone has any suggestions!

Great picture and as a fellow R5 Surf owner we can’t wait to get back out there. Ours is scheduled to come out of storage and get parked in our lift for the summer on April 30th. :D
