N. IL Boat Lift Question

Hello all-

I’m looking for some expertise on boat house type lifts. Currently refurbed lift and added two motors to support Cobalt. It currently has a cradle with treated 2x12s with 4x4 “v” cut and centered/attached to rear I beam. I’m still struggling to get boat centered on lift and thinking of adding guides. The question is which type of guide would work best. 1st photo is my boat and lift and I’ve included pics of two different guides. Does anyone have experience with this situation? Appreciate any feedback. Thank you

Here is shore station side rub rails for centering boat I was referring to.

Guide poles are great but can you get out of the boat when you pull in? if so leave them. Some people leave one side out and push the boat over when lifting.

Your bunks should rest underneath the spray or lifting strakes and not touching by a inch. ( this helps center but resting on the strakes creates warping in the hull side)
Your "V" is great for centering the hull.... but needs to be located in front.
And lastly use a spring line or stop rope to keep it in the same forward location every time. Hopefully your bunks are on the last 2-3 inches of the transom. ( we want support back there to avoid a Hook in the hull )

Thank you! I’ll verify everything. I like the suggestion of keeping guided on one side and adding V to front. I’m on the river and between current and wind can be tough to guide boat onto cradle.

Your on the chain right? Just jump in its only 3 ft deep. Or stand on the car that's in the water
