Yep they just have to speak up. If I could help you I would. My tower sucks to raise and lower so I would be all over this. If I could convert to a new tower I would.

My older SeaRat had a manual folding aluminum tower. I hated it so much I took it off and hung it in my shed! It was a pain to lower it to get into my shed. We sometimes boat on lakes with low bridges and with high water the tower wouldn’t clear. I will never own another boat with a tower that can’t be easily lowered! I am even having Cobalts EZ fold system installed on my R5’s bimini right now. I have a 10 foot door on my shed and the top of the bimini is about 10’4”,go figure...
Good luck finding parts to covert yours to electric! Hope it works out for you!

Talked to parts department at a local large volume dealership. They confirmed that the actuator should be an easy upgrade/install. However he cautioned, its up to Cobalt to allow it. They require HIN for all parts orders, and will likely check the original build before just sending replacement parts. I suspect because this is where cobalt makes alot of money, $10,000 towers are a huge profit margin.

Ok Chris Cross your fingers. This is where Cobalt really sucks. If it's not in the hin they won't sell it. I tried on a diff boat and they denied me. Then I got them a hin that had it and they still denied it. It really sucks. But sure why they don't like taking our money. Mine was over a grand for the part.
Ok can they give you part numbers or pictures of the parts. We can do this without them if we can get this info.

I had someone reach back out from Samson, and she has been super helpful with answering some questions. She even shipped me a replacement part that broke on my tower for free. I just thanked her and asked for some help on this part. I am hopeful she will at least be able to provide the part number

Just saw this. Mine is manual. I've only had it dow once since I took delivery of the boat. I was curious to see how it operated. I didn't see the point of a power options, but I can see how someone who moors on a covered lift with minimal overhead clearance might get tired of manually lifting and lowering the tower each time they went out and came back to their slip.

Big Block Power wrote: Wed Apr 01, 2020 4:42 pm Can you get the actuator from Samson. that might be the cheaper and better way. Cobalt is the middle man so they mark it up and you dealer marks it up. Buy it factory direct.
Maybe buy it in bulk like 10 of them. You might be on to something here.
I wosh everyone luck. I did achieve what seems the impossible. Ordering through cobalt is not an option, as theu reference the vin (so if it wasnt built with it, they wont ship it). I am sure you can order this Lenco actuator from alot of supply houses. So i will post pictures here, and model number

Did we get down to the boat yet. Find any wiring yet. Do we need any brackets what's going on. Man this is killing me. Do we only need 1 actuator or 2?
