Hello from South Florida - new owner in 4 weeks

Post by tgracer »

Hello all!

We pulled the trigger at the Miami boat show in February and have been anxiously awaiting for the re-opening of the factory to build our 23SC. Projected delivery date is June 9th and she'll be one of the first 2021's made.

The build:

Mercury 300 Verado V8 :D
Navy blue side color with white bottom and platform. Terra Brown interior and phantom black (& silver) engine
Easy fold Bimini, Navy canvas
Bow and cockpit covers
Premium sound
LED interior accent lighting (RGB)
Sea grass floor
Portal light
Electric porcelain toilet
Sink console
Battery charger with dual ACR switch
Boarding ladder

The factory reps at the show and the dealer folks have been great. We're very excited!

I'll post pictures when she arrives.

Great forum, looking forward to participating,
Tony

Very cool. Welcome. Tell us about the show. Pictures. Great set up. Will it be kept in the water, dry stacked, lift Kept? Only reason I ask is I didn't see a morring cover. I would get one no matter what. Your bow and cockpit covers are great I would still get those but they will let water in. The morring cover won't. Can't wait for pictures. Yes the factory stared back up this week Monday. I didn't even think of 2021 builds already. You beat the price increase. And thanks for getting a Merc!!!!! 👍

Hi there and thank you for the welcome!

No, not my first boat... Started boating as a teen. Some of the notable previous ones were a 42' Sonic with a couple 500EFIs and a couple 29's (Fountain Fever & a Shockwave both with 525s)

Figured it was time to downsize, slow down a little lol, and most of all go a bit more luxurious and low maintenance.

She will live on my elevator lift, covered. Check out the bunks, Florida Cypress with a 21 degree angle cut at the top. They were a pain to make.

Btw, did my shopping online and in person. Honestly I saw nothing that compares to the quality, fit and finish of a Cobalt.

Wow. Nice work tony. Looks like a great set up on the water too.

As a former Donzi and Fountain owner, I can totally relate to your background. You’ll fit right in here with the other forum members who have also owned similar machines. And we all have an affinity for those blue Mercs. Great stuff brutha.

Welcome from California!
Nice history as we share some background there like slot of members here.

There is a time we realize it’s nice to lounge and swim etc. instead of being glad you got to the next destination and want shade. Lol.

Surprised it wasn’t twins . So what’s that last pic? It looks like you do great woodwork. You even corrected your bunks for dead rise.

Thank you camattj, can't get twins on a 23 or they would have a been on a need to have basis. ;)

The woodwork is a hobby, just wanted bunks that fit the quality of the boat.

Yes, good eye, the bunks are toe'ed in 2" for the dead rise. Hope she fits as expected.
