There has to be an award around (besides the free boat) for this statement!

Well, since the skiing story has expanded (not that it is helping me to figure out how to buy a Cobalt), I learned to ski behind a 14' aluminum boat with 10 hp. We had the huge old wooden skis and started from the dock. If we fell, if was hit or iss whether the thing could drag you up out of the lake. Pretty sure I weighed a bit less then!

They did pull a skier up (for a second or so) behind a dragon boat (lot of paddlers in a loooong canoe sorta thing) in Chattanooga several years ago.

So close!

Btw, I copied and pasted the YouTube link numbers xvmuWcsR9iI at the end of your link and inserted those between the brackets

That way the video shows on the site CB instead of clicking and navigating folks off the site. It’s up to you.

Great post brutha.

The freight and PDI is almost $6kCAN on top of the price so maybe I can talk them down on that and get closer to a total 30% reduction.
I don't think that is right at all. My dealer said the freight and PDI for my R3 was around $3,500 CAD. I think you should be able to get this dealer to take 30% off the MSRP and perhaps move a bit on the freight/pdi if he wants to move the boat.

You would think with the C-19 situation and all of the shut downs in Ontario, sales would be slow, but maybe that isn't the case. Maybe people looking to spend $95,000+ CAD (taxes in) on a boat aren't being affected by the current economic conditions? Maybe people are looking for a toy to get away from it all after being cooped up and sales are brisk? Don't know.

I went into a bike shop in early March and picked up a mountain bike for my 10 year old that I had ordered in. Sales were dead and the dealer was hurting. I went in (with an N95 mask on) yesterday to get a quick adjustment to my bike and pick up some accessories and asked the owner how sales were. He said it has been crazy busy especially for kids bikes and one bike manufacturer (Giant) is sold out of kids bikes already, for the complete 2020 season. Crazy? Maybe not - parents are looking for stuff to keep their kids busy. Maybe that type of thing will translate to boat sales too. Still, I'd try and get a better deal from this dealer.

Thanks, BobRae - would not have pegged you for a Cobalt, maybe a Stanley? My first water trial is tomorrow afternoon. Hoping for some wind but might just get some rain. Hopefully not snow. I was figuring that higher end purchases must be slowing down a bit. I understand bikes flying out the door but still cannot understand why everyone went and bought a Peleton for $3k! There is simply no figuring out human thought processes in general, but it is even less predictable during a pandemic. I was going to insert a funny cartoon here but it has the f@#! word in it - is that taboo?

I will only know once I get to the table! I am not in a rush so if they will not move, I can wait. I do expect some good used boats will hit the market in the next 2 months.

Thanks again for all of the help. I expect I will have more questions after tomorrow!

Sooo...
I had my first test drive of a CS 22 with a VP 280 hP DP. Unfortunately, it was dead calm. So while the boat was great, pretty hard to tell if it is the RIGHT BOAT for Georgian Bay. So for any of you that have some good experience with the CS22 or similar size of Cobalt, what are your thoughts on how this boat will handle big water? The marina where I did the test drive is on an inland lake. Fairly large lake, but not anything like Geoargian Bay. Lots of Cobalts going into the water this weekend, although this marina is one of Canada's largest Cobalt dealers so it adds up.

Looking forward to your opinions.

I inserted that letter number combo from your link xtfTn-bdIPU between the youtube brackets .

That way the vid shows up on the forum instead of having to click the link and leaving the forum.

Great stuff.

I've seen the navy destroyer and airplane skiers.

Post the horse....(or horses) :D
