Transom Speakers 2019 Cobalt R5

Good morning. New to this site. Purchased a 2019 Cobalt R5 with no factory transom speakers. Added the speakers, found the pre-wired connections in the engine compartment but the connectors have 6 wires to each, only need two but which two wires?? Also, are the pre-wired connectors "live" or do I need to connect them to the amp? Finally, where is the amp located? Thanks much. Appreciate any and all input!

How many speakers are installed on your R5 not including your transom install? Do you have tower speakers? Your speakers are probably wired in series vs parallel if you are noticing cut speaker wires. Check out the diagram in my post here.

Amps normally are mounted under the rear seat on the backside of the engine firewall. They can also be mounted in storage near the helm. Basically the driest part of the boat is where amps get located.

Thanks for the response. No arch speakers. I think there are 4 existing speakers. No cut wires, all factory loom and connectors but don't understand why the connectors have 6 wires to each connector.?
