Well the good is 5 year warr. 2 years we are all thinking the market will get flooded. But will it? I can't believe with most of us making less money now we are spending every penny of it. So in 2 years if we are back to making the money we did say last year we will be keeping those babies. It's really hard to say. Time on the water can be very precious and relaxing which sounds like something you want. Let's get this done but at a whole lot more than 10%off. Being in 3 diff states maybe you can find a dealer that's willing to deal a bit more.

I am also curious to see if COVID brings quality used boats to market as people may need to lighten their debt load. At this time, I live in one state and work in two others VA - FL - TX. Free time is at a premium.

I haven't called the dealer with my decision yet.....

At the beginning that is what I though was going to happen. What actually is happening is the exact opposite people are buying entry level/ lower priced boats for overly inflated prices, causing a whole ripple in the market. This is also happening in the RV market. Family isolating or popular thing to do right now I dont know, but it has allowed us to sell or 19' 7 passenger boat for double what we paid 3 years ago. And we must have still been underpriced as we 20 people in line and it sold in less than 10 minutes, but I told my wife that is enough for the boat and karma will get us if we asked for more to begin with.

We are have been on the fence about selling our 220 for a brand new 220(much like yourself is the use worth the cost? we only have partial season). If our local and closest dealer wasnt such a turd it would be on order right now. We did decide to put our 220 up for sale next weekend after our daughters wedding... if it sells then we will go down to the next closest dealer to see what will happen. I dont care if we buy new or a clean older 242, 252, or 262.

Will the market come home to roost in a couple years? Who knows, but we have a lot of good times with good friends on the water.

If you aren't going to use it much until you retire, I would wait a bit. People have tons of free time right now. With no kids sports to take up the weekends either. The used boat and from what I hear the RV market is crazy. There could be a lot of inventory coming back onto the market in a couple of years. But, who knows.

I have been keeping an eye on a particular airplane type to eventually purchase. The dealers are getting tons of interest from 0 time pilots that want to purchase them to avoid the airlines etc. When a good plane comes available, they are snapped up very very quickly.

Our company really needs to sell the KingAir and buy a jet. I can try and twist some arms.

I've been keeping my eye on SR-22's. Nice step up from the rental/school 172's. Convincing the wife will be the hard part. Must have factory air. Being out west, the turbo would be nice but that would put the price too high along with the extra maintenance.

re Max's. Yeah, those might be a bit too small. Maybe bid on one of the Qantas 747's that are parked in Victorville storage. Sad to see.

Hopefully, the MAX will be back "soon"! In the meantime, I resisted the temptation to take the 30% discount deal on the 25SC and see what happens. Who knows, I'm intrigued if Cobalt will produce an outboard R7 (or R5).

It will....and it'll be the safest most scrutinized commercial airliner of all time (as it should be). I sure miss flying it.
In the meantime, nice job getting this thread back on track dg. 8-)

OK, let's get back to flying.

A7 - Is the company keeping everybody current? All simulator? Will you have to have a check ride before a revenue flight? If you take the furlough package how do you keep your type rating?

So many questions. Sorry!

Wow! This thread has potential as my Cobalt purchase is tied to retirement from the flying business. Also, when I saw "A7" I thought we might be reminiscing about the Corsair.

In the meantime, do the veteran boat buyers recommend buying at boat shows? Best deals? Thanks in advance.

We usually recommend new members buy the biggest engine in the biggest boat you can afford as soon as humanly possible so you can post pics here.

Is that a run on sentence?
