New member in Wisconsin

Post by cjmiller »

Hello everyone -

My wife and I just bought our first boat, a 2000 Cobalt 206 with the 5.7 EFI and bravo one outdrive. Boat is in great shape and looks even better after some elbow grease this past weekend. Our kids ( 4 & 6) are super excited and so are we. Looking forward to learning more from all of the knowledgeable people on this forum. I have already spent several hours reading through all of the posts.

Cheers

Chris

Hey Chris. Welcome to the CobaltChat forum. So glad you found us!

Great pic buddy. Thanks for posting it too. Nice reliable V8 engine you got there too. Plenty of torque for that boat. Any interior pics?
I'm guessing stainless cup holders will be your first upgrade over the standard plastic ones.

Again, welcome aboard mate!

Bravo One sounds like a Mercury, which makes sense given its age. The fun part is definitely making it your own, since there are typically few replies that have to be done on a Cobalt that is only 20 years old.

Welcome and your 206 looks super clean! I’m in Minneapolis now but grew up south of Hudson Wisconsin on the St. Croix river.

We have threads on it here. It's a must on a merc. I don't understand why they're are so many Mercs out there that there owners didn't put them on right away. Let's get all lights switched to led's.

We live in the Madison area so the Madison chain, Lake Wisconsin, would like to go up to Castle Rock a couple of times.

Welcome. Great choice on the boat. Buying a boat really changed our lives. I wish I'd bought one when my daughter was four.
Going to be lots of great memories.
