Sounds like you could have bellows leaking or shift Cable boat. I hope you didn't dunk the boat with the brake line open. I'm sure you found that before that. Glad it started and ran good. 5th fuel pump was the charm?

Sorry to say, but I do not know when that brake hose came off the trailer. I have to assume it it went into the water with it open. If you've been following along with my whole ordeal, you already know it did.

Hey, great progress! There will always be something to fix, but at least you can use it now! My speedo is surprisingly accurate to my GPS, so 65 is likely still 62-63 gps. Makes me want to swap to a B1 as I’m against a 60mph wall with B3.

That's what I've read too. B3 tops out around 60.

All you need is the lower unit to swap over.

Of course the stereo didn't act up for the audio shop when they tried bench testing it.

Took it to the boat and installed a different genuine I phone USB cord and it worked. For 3 times. Then back to the cannot find device message.

Ugh...... When will this nightmare be over?????

That's cause you keep your blow hole cleaned out by running wide open all the time.

I was told to keep fresh gas in it all the time.

Yup, but I need the right ratio lower to get correct final ratio. I’ve lightly researched, but I don’t know how to identify what lower I need, and Bravos went through a couple design changes early on that should be avoided. I should figure it out, I see B1 legs for sale for decent prices all the time, but won’t buy until I know exactly what I need.

I thought it was the upper that dictated gear ratio? After looking into it, you are correct. It's a combo of both.

Got the stereo problem with the USB resolved. The head unit needed the JL update performed.

Download the update onto a thumb drive, insert it into the unit, and turn it on. After about 2 mins, remove the thumb drive and power off the unit. Update complete.

Got the amp gains set

Because it's so late into the season, I won't be building the subwoofer box I want. I opted to install the one that came with the boat. The JL 13W3V3-2 is mounted in a ported box inside the engine compartment. Not the best location as I suspected, but it's in.

Sound system is coming along finally.

Only thing left to do with the stereo is install the tower speakers.

Lightning has the NLA AS&M kit that includes the billet flame arrestor, ecu reflash, and MSD ignition. You can still send them an ecu to reflash, but the hard parts as a kit are NLA.

And I thought French classes were hard in high school!

Bio Kleen worked well on the discolored vinyl. However, it seemed to get real bad after removing the new bow cover. Not sure what's going on with that. Sunlight does help to get rid of it though.

Got the new JL's on the tower. They sound good. Need more power though. Only getting 200W to them right now.

Also need a second pole added to the new bow cover. Getting pooling on the front.

Friends and I were having a blast on Sat. Between the new rocking stereo and the performance of the boat we were having a lot of fun.

Remembered the handheld GPS for this morning's top speed test run and she pulls a stout 62.5 MPH according to the Garmin Etrex. Might squeak a 63 out of here if it were dead flat, but we were slightly bouncing in 1 footers.

Pretty impressive package, but I still would like 500 HP.

That's sweet! 62.5 is fantastic too. For the wood grain, I had the exact same ones and vinyl wrapped them, look a lot better. I am planning on actually removing the wood this winter rather than just covering it up, I think the flat panels will look better. Still going to do vinyl wrap over the flat panels though.

I know the wood grain was an "upgrade". Who would have thought the "plain" panels would be sought after 22 years later.
