Curious thinking as we sell demos ( Demonstrators ) Here at our dealership.

Does the consumer believe it was mistreated and possibly weakened in those few thousand miles?
It still has warranty and sometimes additional certificates.

Oh bob what was the vibration repair or was it traded in with the issue? Outdrive realignment? Prop? Normal?
It was taken in at the end of the season with the complaint and they said they didn't find anything obvious and would water test it in the spring. in early spring before the ice was off the lakes, I traded it on my current boat, so I don't know what became of the problem. As you say, it can be many things. At the end of last season I had a slight vibration with my current boat. When it was pulled out I noted a tiny dent (the area of your baby finger nail and slight deflection) on one of the prop blades. They had it corrected and it is as smooth as new.

Traded in with the issue. I'm not sure what became of it but the boat sold at the end of last season after sitting for the summer.

That's a pretty expensive prop guard!

I like that the current swimstep is manual......just reduces the risk of failure. But yeah it is cool and if I was ordering I would probably get it.....so theres that :)

Though if it beeps when deploying no thanks. Apparently the A and upper R series sinking platforms do this but thats for the whole platform. If they add that on for this thats just annoying.

My friends A28 had the annoying beeping when moving the platform. I stuffed a paper towel and duct taped over the "speaker" for them. Also easily disabled.

Still I also am fine with the manual swim step for reliability. Even if it were 1k, I wouldn't buy it. 5k?

I wonder if it warns you it is down when you start the engine. Last year, when the R3 was new to me, I took off a couple of times with the step down. haven't had that problem this year. I think it is a cool feature as long as you can still get the step up/down manually if it fails. having said that, if I could only have one of two options (electric step or windlass) for that money, I'd take the windlass. hauling up that anchor several times a weekend is starting to get hard on my back. :)

When the drive is up, you can't put the swim step down - electric or manual, but if you are on a sand bar, I"m thinking you don't need the swim step?

.
We use our ladder even with the sandbar...and with the extra water level extended swim platform. Never been a fan of the swim step for various reasons but can see the application in certain markets (definitely not our family’s though ).

I'm sure it's like the hydraulic platform on my A25 - when you lower the platform, it lowers the drive first automatically.

That would make sense. :)
