Any idea what this is?
Any idea what this is?
I bought a 2007 232 and found this in the bottom of the rear ski/water toy compartment next to the engine along with a black net. I figured out how the net works but still have no idea where this goes or what its purpose is. Any help solving this mystery is really appreciated because it's driving me crazy!

Interesting. That feature on the top left looks like it should retain something...maybe its what secures that panel in place somehow. It really reminds me of the dividers mounted in my engine compartment. But I don't see any holes in this one for brackets or anything.
It may not actually belong with the boat. I think that covers most of the bases!

Hey rgp. Welcome to the Cobaltchat forum. So glad you found us!
The 262 and 263 had a similar piece in the 2000 model year that went over the storage container in the starboard side sun pad area (part of the engine hatch). Did you try that? It was a horizontal divider of sorts to help things dry in storage.
Any other pics of your 232?
Others will chime in shortly.
Again welcome aboard mate!

I looked all around the engine compartment trying to find someplace it would fit or latch or mount or something. Maybe it doesn't go with the boat at all? I've wanted a Cobalt since I was a kid and after one summer I have to say I love it!

It should sit at the bottom with the netting and hold your ski pylon. I use the storage for extra life preservers. Originally designed for water boards and toys
