rear fresh water hose down and tank questions

Post by cjmiller »

Boat has the rear fresh water hose down sprayer and tank. Do people use these? Is there a way to drain the water from the tank to keep it from getting nasty? Haven't looked around at the tank for a drain as that area of the bilge is pretty dirty (early winter project to clean it out).

nothing? just cleaned out the bilge and can't find any drain. Do people not use these systems or am I making a big deal out of some residual water being in the tank? I guess we could just add some bleach to keep anything from growing in there?

We filled ours (10 gal.) on our 2013 R5. Use it occasionally but not that often. I treated the water with boat drinking water tank treatment when I filled it just to keep it reasonably clean. Ours has a drain valve built into the the tank that would drain it into the bilge if I wanted to but its easy enough to just run the wash down hose out back until the tank is empty. I will dump a gallon of pink RV antifreeze in it this winter and run it into the system.
