sea grass or foam matt flooring

one more question, see some comments on flooring, i was going to order my r5 with the foam matt flooring that also comes on the swim platform, we like the look/ feel more than the seagrass, but i'm seeing some comments on here that say it's very hard to keep clean, but also seeing that they may have revised the matt flooring for 2020 model and it may have been improved, can anyone offer some feedback that has it, going friday to place my order so would hate to make a mistake

I have the sea grass, and it’s great. It does hide the dirt better than the sof-trac; it has a little cushion to it. Consider the sof-trac on the Swim Platform; it can get slippery, and it makes it a little more comfortable while sitting on the swim platform with your feet in the water having an adult beverage while watching the sun set. I just mentioned another reason why you must have the transom speakers.

I have sea grass then the soft trac on the swim platform. I think that is the best combo. I like that the sea grass is easy to clean. I just take it out and spray it off with a hose then hit it with a scrub brush. So no getting on your hands and knees to clean it. Where the soft trac shows foot prints and everything else. Only problem with the Sea grass is it does get hot in the sun. But being in CT I do not think that will be to much of a problem for you. It only gets hot on like 90+ degree days.

I have sea grass in the cockpit and seadek on the platform. The foam WILL show dirt and be more labor intensive. Sea grass is easy. It does get hotter than h&%$ in the non shaded areas though.

I have foam mat through out and so does my brother. His is from cobalt and snaps down with no design in it. Mine is glued down with design (strips). Two main differences, no design can leave foot prints and can be a little slippery if the cleaner is left on it. With the snap down you get all sorts of debris under the mat and it needs to be removed to clean well, I assume this is the same with sea grass.
With my glued down, I spray with cleaner and get a brush on a poll (not on my knees) and scrub them down on the boat, hose them off and done. Takes less than 5 min. No pulling up snaps and putting them back down, no need to wait for drying etc.
I don't like what cobalt offered on the R's (not sure what the R6 actually is but looks better then the R5 option).
I didn't get any flooring from cobalt and bought and installed mine aftermarket, It is fantastic and easy. We don't get foot prints etc on it and it just cleans up really easy.

You should post a picture of yours it is awesome. My dirty foot prints were much less this year and less of a Hassel. If I was buying new I would also go soft mat.

on the solid stuff it seems like the foot prints and such appear in spring where people get pollen on their feet. At least at our lake that happens, by summer the problem is pretty much gone.

That's a look we will be going after eventually. Our last three boats were fully covered, it works well in our area. We ordered ours with standard carpet with the knowledge that we will be having it all done in Seadeck either this winter or next (boat show shopping!) The will have the company that did our last boat do it again. I do like that little bit of red peaking of the gray, we will be doing it in gray. We don't have a problem with cleaning, seems to hose off without problems. On this boat, I will be adding some on the anchor hatch as well, to aid in stepping off the bow to a dock.

We have it on the anchor hatch as week, really helps complete the look. If anyone is buying a new boat, have them not put the carpet down, then there aren't snap holes to fill in and makes self install a breeze! They will toss the carpet in just not installed Incase you ever need/want it.
