Or more ice chests loaded with beverage and lots of friends! More weight helps the R7's wake tremendously!
Or buy the 8.2 merc 380 or 430 instead of the Volvo. Instant extra weight. Boom done easy fix for this guys!!

OK, so tried out the swell, not much of an impact, I would say maybe about 10% easier to stay in the sweet spot while riding. I was able to drop the rope and stay in the sweet spot longer (about 2 min) but not really much in terms of visual change in wave. I would not recommend the swell.

Where did you place the lead? On the floor in the seating area of the boat or in the engine/hull compartment?

Just found this thread.
I'd like to thank all you people who surf.
At Greers Ferry Lake in Arkansas, there are so many surf boats, creating so many waves that have so much push (energy is the physics word I would use), that we were getting beat up all the time in our 18.5 foot Caravelle bowrider.
End result: new R3.
Thanks again.

Thanks for letting me know. I was thinking about getting one... I guess I’ll stick with the fat sac... you just saved me like $250!

Hey everyone. I have a 2018 R7 surf. I have noticed the same thing as everyone else. Wave kind of sucks if I don’t have 10 plus in the boat - especially for me (52 and not that good). Would love to here from someone using a shaper on R7. Also, has anyone ever tried just filling ballast on the left only when they surf left vs filling both left and right? Physics would tell me the more I weight the better but I wonder if you don’t have a full boat if filling the right ballast kind of balances things out and takes away from the wake on the left?

You know it's funny because even in a Bu or Naut. Those guys just keep adding more and more weight over the factory ballast. So I don't know why it wouldnt be any diff in the cobu?

Thanks, learn something new every day. In Canada, you need a spotter. :)
I agree and it should be that way.
Yes we have the mirror. I guess It is risky though, If I piss her off she could just leave me in the middle of lake without any witnesses :P  !
I don't worry about that...my wife hates to pay bills, iron, mow grass, do home maintenance....see I am valuable.
