Stuck Prop
Any suggestions on how to remove the front prop, it seems to be stuck. The rear one slid right off. It’s a DP-SM drive if thats any help.

Re: Stuck Prop
Ok.this happens if no one removes it and doesn't lube the splines. I would be careful and tap on it with wood. Very gentle. I think you can get a puller on it. I saw a you tube vid on it awhile ago. May have to search for it. Going to have to work at it though. It should pop off. I guess no one has been changing the gear lube then?

Re: Stuck Prop
So that trick worked!
There doesn't seem to be that much grease on the splines. Glad they are off.

Re: Stuck Prop
I know I’m too late but, had you run the boat since you bought it?
My forward prop was stuck so I decided to just use it a few times and hope it loosened up a bit. Sure enough, I took a 4x4 and a mallet and bumped it off.

Re: Stuck Prop
We used the boat from July when we got it, until the weather turned cold. It’s terrible storing it at my shop at work. There always seems to be a little project here and there for it.

Re: Stuck Prop
Now that the props are off, who do I send them to? They just have a few little dings I’d like to have taken out. It’s a 5.7gi and will turn 5k rpm without hitting the rev limiter. It does 50 mph on gps. Is it worth having them cleaned up/tweaked?

Re: Stuck Prop
Yes it's worth getting them cleaned up. Ask your local dealer where they send them.Brokentoy1 wrote: Mon Oct 26, 2020 9:32 pm Now that the props are off, who do I send them to? Re: Stuck Prop
It'll run you minimum $150 per prop to recondition (seems to be the going rate). You will not notice any improvement in speed. If they are badly nicked or bend, you might have vibration. Reconditioning them will get rid of vibration. Instead, if you have F5 or F6 props, I'd look for a set of F7 (hard to find) if you want more speed.Brokentoy1 wrote: Mon Oct 26, 2020 9:32 pm Now that the props are off, who do I send them to?
