New to me 262
New member, we recently acquired this 2002 Cobalt 262. It needs a little cleaning up, but otherwise in very good condition. Powered by the 8.1 GXi with Captain's Call and has the teak package on platform and walk-thru. Enjoyed the short time I have been on this forum, looking forward to Spring!

Hey TPR. Welcome to the CobaltChat forum. So glad you found us!
You are going to love that model. Heck of a machine... especially with the GXI motor.
Your first upgrade will be stainless cupholders if that has not already been done. I'm guessing it probably has been since the previous owner(s) added window tint. Lookin' good my friend.
How are your cushions holding up? The engine platform cushions have a tendency to separate at the seams where the alligator printing is.
Yes, like OL said...more pics please! How about an engine shot too.
Again, welcome aboard mate!

Welcome! Odd seeing a 262 without a arch.

Re: New to me 262
I will certainly need St. Stl. cup holders (any recommendations?), three of the plastic ones were in the floor after the 2 hr. ride home. Also noticed some small cracking around the cup holder holes on back cubbies, any suggestions on repair or preventing from getting worse? The sides are tinted but not the front, will try to tint front or pull tint off sides so it will match.
Sun pads were redone a couple years ago, I am having rear seat inserts recovered now, the rest is not perfect, but will get us thru a couple summers.
It is hibernating about 45 minutes from home right now, these are all the pictures I currently have. I will post more once I have cleaned it up, thanks for the welcome guys!

I kinda like the two tone tint windshield. I will say a full tint windshield all the way around also looks sharp.
Stainless cup holders on Amazon and eBay are plentiful and inexpensive. Some opt for LED lighted ones if you feel up to running wires to them. Post a pic of your damaged gel coat in the drink cuddies so we can help diagnose for ya’. A little glue may be all you need. You can reach into the cup holes and push forward if need be. Those cup holders just use silicone to stay in place.
How are you having the rear back-rest inserts redone? Did you remove them? Not an easy task.
Where do you boat?

Re: New to me 262
Sorry i wasn't clear, the cushions being re-covered are the removable rear seat bottoms (4) and center bow (1) cushion. Likely will go with unlit cup holders, we do very little night boating. Gel Coat is nice, can't wait to buff and polish it next spring. Only item I wish it had, but doesn't, is the Extended Swim Platform.
We will primarily stay around the Pickwick Lake or Bay Springs portion of the Tennessee River and Ten-Tom Waterway. May pull over to Smith Lake in AL a couple times a year.

Very nice rabiddawg! Judging by your username, are you a dawg of the Georgia or MS State variety?
