My R6 Surf build, what am I missing?

Those of you ordering the R6 Surf, are you going with the fixed tower (standard) or upgrading to the folding tower? Thanks

I am getting the folding tower - more flexibility on winter storage. Though I haven't done the payback calculation on the potential extra storage cost vs the cost of the tower.

Thanks for the reply. I have a lift so storage isn’t an issue. My two concerns are resale and not being able to access a couple area of the lake (access is probably less of a concern).

I would probably do the folding arch as that is what is on my current R5. The big question for me is to go with the standard bimini which is what I have now or the more fixed sunshade. Deploying the bimini now is sort of a pain for me. Two person job for sure and I always feel like I’m doing origami.

I think the fixed and rotating sunshades look a bit less “integrated” plus they are always overhead, even when out for an evening cruise and there is no overhead sun. Finally, I’m not sure but I think the Bimini on the R3, 5, 7 has more area then the fixed/rotating shade but I haven’t measured them both. I agree the Bimini is a lot of fiddling to put up and take down though.

My order is in...basically every option discussed above except TT's...once again (after I said that many people told me to get TTs) dealer said he wouldn't recommend for the R6 Surf at Tahoe. He drove with/without at the dealer meeting Orlando and said he wouldn't get for his own boat on Tahoe unless R30 or similar. So...anyway, my order (basically all white with Navy stripe) is on order and hopefully ready for summer in Tahoe!

Quick note on the tower Bimini being fixed/ rotating verse folding. I chose the fixed/ rotating on my R6 in order to get the sail shades for the front and back. Anyone else see this "issue" on the cobalt configurator? Says you can only get the sail shades with the fixed/ rotating tower?

That appears to be correct. It must have something to do with teh way the rear shade attaches. I'm not sure if you can use either front or rear shade while teh boat is moving though, not that I see that as a problem.

Great news. Shouldn't be a long wait. Mine started production at the end of December is scheduled to ship February 10th.
