Cobalt R30 swim platform failure

Hey everyone - hopping on here to learn a little bit, but my guess is the need of an experienced mechanic.

Currently my Cobalt R30 is having an issue with the swim platform. It appears to be an issue with the hydraulic lift, perhaps a leak.

After the most recent use, the port side lift appears to have failed and is stuck in down position while starboard is still in the up/cruise position. Power to the mechanism is still Available but the raise and lower buttons do not make any action while the beeping/electronics seem to be functioning.

I have included an image but would really like some advice!

Have you seen any hydraulic fluid in the water or bilge? The dash contrails work but have you checked connections at the transom?

I just recent bought what I believe to be a twin to your boat - I honked and waved to you a few weeks back as we passed each other just west of the Hurricane Deck Bridge. Not sure if you saw me.

As for your platform - With any hydraulic system there should be a pump and a reservoir. Have you checked the fluid level?

How do you like the R30? It is on my list of possible replacements should I ever decide to move up.

Love it. Twin 380 hp engines are as great as advertised. The wide beam and hardtop really give the boat a big feel.
It’s a great boat. Not as flashy as the Formula but still elegant.

After reading about the issues on the R35 platform falling off, you'd better double check your linkages and pivot pins. Having one side up and the other down is probably putting a lot more stress on those pivots and from the pics in the other threads, they don't look very robust to begin with. If any look worn or loose, replace the pins and linkages asap lest you be out a platform and drive!
