That is actually way cheaper than I thought it would be.

Having trouble finding the Deutsch connector for the transom tilt. Can someone let me know where yours is? Did not see it in the area under the transom walk thru.

Re: Transom Tilt Switch R7
It will be there but may be bundled up in the main harness and you would have to run wires to get it where you want it and attached with a pigtailed Deutsch connector to the harness.higginspa1371 wrote: Sun May 16, 2021 6:56 pm Having trouble finding the Deutsch connector for the transom tilt. Re: Transom Tilt Switch R7
Wires on starboard side are wrapped in corrugated tubing. Is the connection there or is it closer to middle of rear transom wiring. Just do not want to open up corrugated tubing if I do not have to. Thanks again for assistance

Re: Transom Tilt Switch R7
Mine were wrapped with quick ties but connectors were outside of the corrugated tubing....if you aren't seeing the connectors like what BruceB took a pic of previously in this post then you may have to dig deeper into the corrugated to find them but they should be there.

Hey Bruce, I am looking for these connections in my engine bay. Any chance you could help point me in the right direction? I would have guessed (if facing the stern, I would need to look to the left of the rear of the engine. I did not see it.bruceb58 wrote: Sun Feb 07, 2021 4:22 pmI just looked at mine. It's a 3 pin and it's labeled Merc trim.

Re: Transom Tilt Switch R7
The Mercury switch will not work on a Volvo. Yes it is a 3 pin packard type plug, but it is a different size. I bought one and it would not work, at least not plug/play. The connectors are port side back of motor, labeled “Trim”.

Re: Transom Tilt Switch R7
It isn't plug and play but it will work. You just have to be a little bit creative. If you locate the Deutsch connector n the boat side, all you have to do is add the Deutsch connector to the Mercury trim swtch...simple.billk2632 wrote: Fri Apr 28, 2023 5:33 pm The Mercury switch will not work on a Volvo. If you can't locate the boat's connector, you can splice the Mercury switch into the wires...also simple.

Re: Transom Tilt Switch R7
I bought the kit from cobalt when I purchased the new to me r7. A little confused as I thought it was just going to be the part with the three wires with tiny black ends. So I gotta find where they connect. My current thinking is that maybe these larger black connectors go in the middle of a section that is plugged together. Looking at the photo above it is probably the trim control plugs. So tbd…
I also thought I was going to have to drill a round hole…well this takes a rectangular cut into the fiberglass.

Re: Transom Tilt Switch R7
How much was the VP switch? My dealer quoted @ $250, so thinking the Mercury switch would work (plug and play) I bought that one for @$65. Looks like the VP switch will plug right into the harness (see second picture in my post above) and the 3 wire connector type plugs must goto back of the switch. Hard part on this one is cutting the rectangular hole in the boat vs a round hole.
