Correct is not on my nerves. You've gone after this for so long and it's not fixed! I give you credit to keep going after it. I just don't deal with headaches. I want to enjoy boating or what ever. So I would have moved on 2 years ago. Let's get it fixed and let's post the fix!
AJ dealt with his and fixed it I think the first year. I know he was getting frustrated as well.

After two years of bull $4!t it looks like it maybe the water pump housing . Dealer is still working on it. Just my luck not covered by warranty.

I've called mercury and they are very forgiving sometimes. It's like calling cobalt! You never know what you will get.

Looks like its a $400 part. Not too bad. Was it leaking air past the seal?

3rd Week at the dealer. No luck yet may be a bad back plate in the raw water pump, Not the Mickey Mouse Ear one.

You need to find a different mechanic. Hopefully, they did the clear hose test after the water pump. May even have to do one before the water pump.

Ok guys after fighting this for a few years I think John Pritchard of Blue Marlin Marine in Norfolk Va has fixed the issue. The raw water pump at sometime got scored in side due to sand or what ever. He replaces A new fix by Merc. Plates in the housing where impeller goes and wear plate that looks like mickey mouse ears. The boat now has 19 to 20 water psi at 4000 rpm ran over a hour . Pressure fluctuates as popit valves and thermostat opens. The lowest it did get was 10. Some pressure loss after long runs but within limits no alarms. This seems to be a fix I HOPE>>>>> Still not sure why it drops I guess the impeller flexes some at temp. I will take it if this stays as is. This has about drove me and Mercruser crazy. Never changed both plates . Never advised to. Thanks to all members for advise and patients. Kenny

On another forum I am on, A Volvo was having cooling issues as well. They also ended up replacing the entire pump.

The temp never got above 145. it would go into limp mode due to Low block pressure.

So did you get merc to cover it yet?
Glad it's fixed. You won't know how to enjoy that boat this summer without worry what temp is running. So now change the Guage to mpg. Lol

No Merc is not giving . Although they must have had issues before to change to Two wear plates. $300 fix . Not to bad.
