100% agreed! One way to look at it! I like that.

If I had the energy and time, I am sure I could replace the pads myself. Except, you need the VAGCOM software to release the rear calipers or E-brake I believe.
Is the anti squeal for you when you pay the bill?

Amazing $2k for a brake job. Glad I work on my own cars/boats

I have an autoenginuity scanner along with several paid extra bundles for stuff like this. On my Lexus, I needed to set the brake system in a special mode just to change the brake fluid.

I also have the Rinda Diacom scanning software for the boat.

I'm just glad you can do now! Make sure give them a perfect on their survey though. Their paychecks rely on them.

I can't hardly believe what I see for charges on that bill ! I drive a Mercedes and I thought they were high. An oil change with Mobil One which Mercedes always recommends, Oil filter, bleed brakes and change brake fluid, Drain and replace coolant and a 27 point check on other stuff and finally a car wash. Total was 271 bux. Good for the next 12000 miles. That was what Mercedes calls the 'B' service. Next time , it's the "A" service which is always cheaper.

I just bought 12 quarts of Mobile 1 ESP for my Mercedes diesel. Going back to changing my own oil.
One day it dawned on me that the cars that I've put the most miles on, spent less on repairs; were the ones I never took back to the dealer.
I've seen several times where I had no problem with a car, taken it to dealer for "recall", and then started having problems.
Learned a lot about Mercedes diesel recently, so now I'm a Mercedes Certified (YouTube) Mechanic.

Are they charging minimum wage for the hourly? Is that at a dealer?

I don't think I've ever left the Mercedes dealership with bill under $500.
