The ever increasing cost of brand new boats will keep the price of quality used boats high.

The new boats are not leaps and bounds better than the used ones in terms of build quality and options. In fact, an argument could be made that since Malibu bought Cobalt the build quality has actually receded a bit. And rushing production to meet ridiculous demand in recent years cant be good for quality either. Time will tell there.

Its better to have a boat than need a boat right now, that's for sure.

Amen to this and pretty much every other thing. It isnt just boat prices, I absolutely cannot believe the asking prices of homes coming for sale around TRL. And they sell in a day. We purchased a lot to build a 2,000sh sq ft house and while we dont have the cost estimate back yet we might hold off a bit due to increases in materials cost. Couple all this with a ridiculous amount of liquidity in the economy and I'm not super optimistic pricing issues are going away anytime soon.

We are going through a bit of inflation. The value of our place in Florida has risen an easy 100K in the past 2 year. If something comes up in our community, it sells immediately.
1,000 people a day moving to this state.

So someone could sell your house or boat..heck, even scarce HD trucks are weirdly overpriced used.. but the replacement price is as relative as it ever was. It’ll cost, and you may not even get it until fall. Those who bought real estate...and Cobalts a couple years ago are sitting very pretty...

Went through a new development last week in Orange Beach, AL close to beach but could not see it. These were very small “shotgun” looking, 2 story, 2 bed, 1 1/2 bath, open living/kitchen area, about $500,000. All lots were sold already in first 2 phases. Whew! (22 steps to 2nd floor but whose counting). With that many steps, I’d need to add an elevator!

Like Tuscany’s area, this area is growing like crazy. We bought a lot in an rv resort here several years ago & now it is just about sold out. During COVID, everybody on the planet suddenly realized that boating and camping could actually be fun. We hope to go out west again this year but are worried that we can find campgrounds!
