New member - and Cobalt wantabe.

Post by WATERHOG »

Hi all, my name is Tim. I have been a boater for 22 years and have a house on Norris Lake in Tennessee. I own a beautiful sweet Crownline 230BR for 19 years.Which I have kept in perfect like new condition. 1000 hours. But we are ready to move into a another boat and have settled on Cobalt. We like an A28, R7 or R8. But the R8 would make me buy a new lift because it s heavy. I figure the forum is a good place to get advice. Sooo.....that is my story.

I love norris lake. all the boats you mentioned are expensive so the lift would just be part of keeping it for the next 20 years. plus you get to sell yours so not too big of an issue.

Where about do you live on Norris. I have rented on Big Creek, at the north end of cedar creek, and at spring dock. Beed two years since I have been there and I want to go back!

Hey Tim...welcome to the CobaltChat forum. So glad you found us!

Thanks for the intro and you will find others who had a similar journey to a Cobalt after owning a Crownline. Nice boats. Any pics of your Crownline or lake home?

Love the looks of the A series but the R series is more for the sports car thrill seeker inside you. Really can't go wrong with either. If you are looking to wake surf with a forward facing outdrive then R series all the way baby. 8-)

Others will chime in shortly.

Again welcome aboard mate!

Welcome. Go with any that you can find right now! Can't go wrong.
Huge jump up from the crownline. I had a 202.

Welcome. All great boats. It really depends on what you like to do while on the water. No matter which you pick, be sure to circle back and ask for opinions on what options and engine size to get. We love spending OPM (other people’s money).

You guys wanted a picture of my Crownline and my house. I have my normal view of the boat and it is my favorite hangout! Also couple of the house. The picture of our bar called "scurvies" is my next favorite hangout.
