Cobalt 240 tabletop

Hi, our 240 has the tabletop that lays in the floor when not in use and doubles as the base for the rear filler cushions (which converts to a larger lounge pad in connection with the rear bench seats).

The problem is, when the tabletop slides into position, it constantly slides forwards and falls out of the slots whenever anyone shifts even the slightest amount, causing it to come crashing down onto the floor. It has two tiny snaps that attempt to hold it in place.

Any current or former 240 owners have this issue and have a solution? At this point, we won’t be able to use the filler cushions as intended.

we use to use ours a ton and the snaps held it in fine. From what I can remember you would wrap the strap around the stainless bar, and then snap it.

are the straps loose? or the snaps worn out?

Well they seem to be in good shape but they don’t hold the tabletop in place at all. Maybe the snaps are just worn out??

Visit your local Ace Hardware and pick up a couple of stainless steel replacement snaps and first see if they snap and hold. 2nd if they do not, is try squeezing one slightly with the emphasis on slightly to see it that does the trick. It is either the male coupler or female that is the guilty party. One other trick is they sell very short snap extenders for under a buck a pop that you could crimp in place which would provide a fresh clean new one. Justmy2cents.
