Quick update on the project. Replaced the starter (still had the original one if you can believe it) and she fired right up! I'm going to service the outdrive (impeller, oil, exhaust bellow) and then it's time for a test run.

I also finished repairing the floor and glassing everything in. I need to sand down a few spots, clean and then install the new carpet. Ordered replacement B2B seats last night. If everything goes to plan I think I can have it ready to rock by July. I still need to reupholster the bow seating area and rear bench but I can continue working on that throughout the summer. She won't win any beauty pageants but she'll be serviceable. :)

Still no luck tracking down any replacements for the swim platform brackets. I'm probably just going to put the old ones back on for this season and then have new ones fabricated locally.

Nice to see you're still trucking along on this!

I'll get to it before the others do - photos of the flooring work? :)

Not exactly a thing of beauty but it should work I think. I still need to touch up a spot or two then sand down the rough spots. Overall it turned out pretty good imo.. Solid and level.

Let the judging begin!

No judging. Curious why you didn’t do the whole thing?

Because most of the decking was fine. It was only around the ski locker area that was bad.

Hey, what's up all. Hope everyone has had a great summer thus far.

It's been slow progress as of late with work and family obligations but I managed to finished installing the carpet and am just about ready for the shakedown run to see how she performs. I can't say that I'm super thrilled with the way the carpet turned out but it'll do. I'll post some pictures and maybe video of the shakedown run.

I bought a couple of Wise back2back seats to replace the originals but they're really too small for the boat. I'll probably end up selling them off season and look at installing some pedestal seats or something.

Cheers!

Can you get your originals redone?

Did you venture down to the classic regatta for some inspiration Friday?

I trashed them over the winter. In hindsight I probably should have held on to them. Live and learn I guess.. :/

Unfortunately no. I hadn't been keeping an eye on the regatta dates.

Got the boat out on the water for the first time yesterday after work and she performed fabulously! It was only about a 15 minute trip to test things out, stopping periodically to check for leaks of any kind, etc. Talk about a big milestone! It's been a long year of demo, construction and mechanical work so it feels good to finally have it out on the water to confirm that I haven't completely wasted my time and money. It's definitely been a learning experience. This is my second boat but I paid a shop to do all the maintenance on that one.

Here's a breakdown of everything that I've done to the boat to date:

• Engine
○ new Fuel pump
○ new fuel filter
○ carb rebuild (outsourced)
○ new starter
○ new solenoid relay
○ new 50amp breaker
○ new Fuel fill hose
○ new fuel line hose
○ new Delco EST Distributor
○ new plug wires
○ new plugs
○ re-seated intake manifold + new gasket
○ new batteries + new cables
• Outdrive
○ water pump + impeller changed
○ gear oil change
○ new exhaust bellow
○ bellhousing gasket
• Interior
○ Carpet
○ Seats
○ Floor patch
• Other
New fabricated swim platform brackets

Next up for this season is to finish reupholstering the rear bench, clean and reinstall teak trim and service the trailer brakes as I don't think they're working properly.

I can't believe it's been a full year since I posted any updates! I haven't been able to use her much this year as she's been in the shop most of the summer waiting in line to have a full bellows service done. When inspecting the drive bellow this spring I noticed it was pretty weathered and figured it was best to have the pros take care of it for me. In hindsight I should have done this over the winter. Oh well, live and learn.

Other updates are, installed a new bluetooth receiver, covered the rear bench base with seadek style flooring, restoring teak trim, and converted the trailer from surge to electric brakes. Still have some upholstery work to do but she's usable as is. I'll take some updated pictures this weekend before I take her out again.
