Crack in Anchor Hatch

Post by russc3 »

A small crack has emerged in my anchor hatch door on the bow. I don't know how it occurred, and I don't want it to get any worse! Curious if anyone has advice on patching or replacing it. Thanks in advance!

If it were me I would stop drill the crack and then put sea-dek or equivalent EVA foam over the top. I'm sure some MFR has a template for your model boat anchor locker hatch. If you are not familiar with stop drilling it is simply drilling small holes at the ends of the crack to relieve stress and keeps the crack from getting bigger.

Thanks! Solid advice, Stagdad! I never thought about sea-dekking that area.
