Prayers for all of those affected by the tragedy in Las Vegas. I'm supposed to fly out for Mandalay Bay a week from Wednesday and don't know if that will be happening now. Such a senseless loss. I just don't understand or begin to comprehend how someone could do something like that.

I wish the news wouldnt cover the shooter's story at all. No name, age, where he lived nothing. I think they should cover the victims, the people that ran towards the gun fire to help.

Yes, prayers to all affected.

Prayers for the families and victims. Sorry no other words. I'm not a gun guy don't own any. I just think they are way too easy to get your hands on them.

Praying for the victims and their families in Las Vegas. I certainly can see your point BB. I've owned guns all my life. Some for hunting and some for self defense, but I don't understand what is happening in our country. I have never once even had the idea cross my mind to hurt anyone who was not trying to hurt me or my family. I just can't put the pieces together concerning this violence against innocent people.

Everything I read online says his family doesn't understand it either and finds it almost impossible to believe.

Lots of hate in the world against people who are different. I believe that folks are different, I can have a discussion with someone and realize that we don't agree. No problem. I don't need to call them names or insult them. I'll go to the polls and cast my vote, they can cast their vote. Doesn't mean I hate them, we just disagree. I see so many post online that are just hateful for the sake of hate. I just don't understand it.

I agree with you 100%. I don't get it. I'm afraid to look at the driver of the car next to me half the time.
It's a sad time right now for so many different reasons.

No matter what side of the gun laws a person supports, the problem can not and will not be solved.
Bottom line...There is no way to stop, or legislate out evil and hate.
We can potentially make the tools of evil illegal, but we can not stop someone from accessing and possessing them illegally.
This is a problem that unfortunately we can not fix, and we are kidding ourselves if we think we can somehow pass a law that makes all of this go away..

You are right BB, sad times we live in.

I agree with Bfun's point - if we can figure out the motivation of shooters like this and remove it, that seems the best path forward.

He had ammonium nitrate in his car (and had a car) - hard to say it would have been less destructive if it were another Murrah Federal Building bombing (168 dead, 680 injured) or Nice vehicle attack (86 dead, 434 injured). I think the problem is the people/culture, moreso than the fertilizer, truck, gun, plane, etc.

The only problem it seems, is that there are no constants to go by, and an infinite number of reasons that trigger someone to lose mind and conscience. Religion, racism, jealousy, revenge, envy, hate, self pity etc.
The human mind works chemically. There is no cure, and more importantly, no warning for whatever seems to inbalance ones chemical balance in the brain at any given time.
