Hopefully that's all it will need. The plug was pretty much disintegrated. Hope none of it went into the cylinder. That might mean bigger problems.

That sounds like my luck.

Plugs n wires made little to no difference in mine last weekend.

Buddy of mine has hooked me up with an ignition shop that primarily serves the oil field. He has a test rig that can simulate the load on a coil. I’m going to take mine by there Monday

The plug actually remained in the engine. The inside of the plug blew out.

Good Lord. And I thought I held the bad spark plug award since 2019. I’ll happily pass the torch on.

Haha! Don't really want the torch but will take it. I'm getting it off the lake this week. Crossing fingers that no damage has occurred in the cylinder. Could be a big job to repair if that's the case. I still don't get why the plug blew out that way. The only thing I can think of is that the plug was cross threaded and not seated properly. I had just installed a new coil on that plug.

Hopefully that bodes well for a bad plug rather than messed up threads in the block. Would be nice if a new plug solves your issues.

I agree. Looks more like a plug failure than bad threads. Curious the compression in that cylinder...like 50:1

I'm surprised it didn't got through straight through the hull and into the lake :-) -- It was a pretty nasty sound when it blew out.

Well, there’s another option I hadn’t considered. Put in some glow plugs and swap out the injectors and build a torque monster :)

I think we're on to something here. We should put some engineering plans together!

I’m betting when you installed that plug your tool was at an angle and cracked the plug. I’ve had it happen in the past. For me the end always fell off right then.

I’d put another plug in it if the threads are good.

You're probably right -- I need to have look inside the cylinder. Not sure if any metal or ceramic substance went in. I'm going to drop it a my marina and have them take a look just to be sure.
