Finally found my Cobalt

Post by Freddie »

I joined this group a year or so ago to help me choose a Cobalt for my family. Some of you can relate to buying a boat in this turbulent market!
I wanted to thank so many of you for your help, your suggestions, and mostly your shared knowledge of different models. I had some specific needs to meet some family medical issues, so it was a journey to get here. You all helped it happen.
I closed on a 2004 Cobalt 250 with a 496 Mag, Bravo 3, closed cooling, captains call, in great condition just 3 hours away. I bought a new 2022 10,000 lb trailer for it. There were a few hurdles, but all went well. It was mostly a Canadian Lake Huron boat until recently, still registered in Canada.
I have a few things I want to improve, so I’ll call out if I get stumped.

Nice congrats. I like the add on the sun deck that catches the water and prevents water from falling on your engine.

BBP, it works pretty well, I was doing a few things after a rain today and opened the engine cover to see them in action.

BBP, thank you, especially, for all the info you shared over the past year. You helped me wade through the forest to find this boat!

Nice Freddie. Yes, that's a first for me seeing that jury-rigged rain catcher in the engine compartment. Pretty ingenious really.

Hello Freddie,

Like the 250 series of boats, very nice. We have ours on lake Champlain and love it (255 same boat closed bow version)
Would you be able to send pictures of the electric hatch opener? Mine is manual and would like to convert ours to electric like yours.
Where it mounts on both ends and a picture of unit info if it is on it.
