R4 Release
R4 Release
Are there any rumors about the R4 Release, I thought that I had heard that it would be very early 2021?
Re: R4 Release
I was just at my dealer yesterday sitting in a new R6 (his first). He says the R5 and R7 have stopped production and the R3 will stop in the next several months. He expects the first R4s to start shipping in August.

Re: R4 Release
I'm wondering if the R4, and the rest of the even series, will make the R3, and the rest of the odd series, a more desirable used boat when they are no longer in production.
When CBS bought out Fender Guitars, I couldn't afford a Gibson Les Paul, so I looked at Fender Stratocasters. Turned out the pre-CBS models where selling for a lot more money than then new ones.

I dont know why they would release another model now when they are soo far behind on production. Wait until the orders start to wane.

Re: R4 Release
Some of the dealers and marines appear to be taking online orders for the 2022 R4 Surf.
I imagine September will be the release month.

Re: R4 Release
Maybe for a little while for a certain segment of the market. I'm sure when the "odd" R series was introduced many didn't like it compared to the outgoing models.Krob1114 wrote: Fri Jul 23, 2021 4:17 am I'm wondering if the R4, and the rest of the even series, will make the R3, and the rest of the odd series, a more desirable used boat when they are no longer in production.

I know personally I vastly prefer the odd vs the even. I could see the desire for the new surf tech, but not much else from both an appearance and power to weight ratio standpoint. I don't care for the new A Series either. They all just kinda look like any other brands out there where as the outgoing products looked distinctively more luxurious than the competition. No offense meant to those who love the R6/8.

I'm a 7 owner.
I'm always down for what's in style, and the odd is out of style....so I'm a fan of the evens.

I was a fan of the evens when Triumph did away with the TR6 and replaced it with the wedge, sharp lined TR7.Tuscany wrote: Fri Aug 27, 2021 6:19 pm I'm a 7 owner.

A move that I think quickened their demise.
I do like new in most instances.

I think Ralph Nader had something to do with that…especially since the 7 and 8 now had to sport those rubber baby bunker bumpers.

Re: R4 Release
Now there's a name I haven't heard in years.
I'm guessing he is probably dead now?
