I went with this one from JVC. My brother had the same one installed last year and it is a great unit that is super easy to use. We can pair up to 5 phones at once so everyone can get in on being a DJ.

Ok thanks. I just got my distortion meter today. So it's time to get it tuned.

They tuned mine pretty darn close to exactly what I wanted. As soon as I get the boat back we are going to go find a good spot away from people and see what we need to do to tune it. I don’t have a fancy meter though. :D

Nice install ! Very fair for all the labor that went in! Radio on the driver side?? Like a normal boat should be ? And you can see it? Crazy.
.
What’s the toggle switch for next to your rear port speaker?

Thank you. I’m very pleased with it.

That toggle is for the engine hatch.

May that's all you found was a big switch. Really disappointed 😔

Yeah May. I expected so much more. 😁

GrEAt job Shuruff! You guys are going to rock it this summer! And thanks for the kudos, but I didn't do anything other than present a different viewpoint from a different angle. You made all the decisions!

Btw, you have two batteries on a Perko, right? Get in the habit of switching them so those big amps don't drain your batteries out in a long afternoon. Keep one battery fresh for starting, then when you pull out switch it back to charge while underway. And maybe think about an on onboard charger for the next project!

We DO have two batteries on a switch. We were already in the habit of switching it last year so that will be easier to remember. The stereo is hooked up to battery #2 so it will only play in the 2 or "all" position. I'll definitely switch things around to make sure we are getting charged back up, and so we have a good, full battery to get home on. Fortunately these JL amps don't gobble power like some others do.

I do think an on-board charger is going to be an addition this year. I almost had them add it when they were doing everything else, but the bill was starting to scare me.

We used 3 pairs of MX650CCXSGWH
1 pair of MX770CCXSGWH (transom)
2 M10IB5SGWH (Subs)
1 M800/8v2 amp
1 M600/1 amp

There’s some other connectors etc listed but that’s the main stuff.

Bigblock, tell me more about your distortion meter. Are you making sure you can drive your speakers into distortion, AC/DC style, to get that sweet sound you’ve been missing? ;)

My head unit I can go to 50 before it distorts. So I set everything at 49. There's a couple of diff freq he gives you to set the gains too. I went with louder vs best sounding. The best sound wasn't very loud. I know where it is on the gain though. I'll recheck again in the future. It's pretty easy.

One of my all time favorite movie clips akor. Thanks for posting it. :D

I also like that our Tesla has 11 for volume control and 11 for climate control fan speed in honor of Spinal Tap.
