The (folded) arch was still almost 2' taller than the windshield on the 17'. I would have needed a 14' tall building to fit it on my trailer.

I'm still surprised anyone orders the non folding stainless style arch. Looks great, but It's like putting up view blocking walls on the boat. I like the new folding arch much better.
The sun coverage with our Bimini is huge. Definitely looks like a tent when open. Double edged sword there for my family. I like a cover, everybody else loves the sun..
The basic frame looks to be similar to the current folding arch which is not quite as meaty looking as the non folding to me. My order goes into production on 10/2 so I have until next Friday to make changes. One change I was making was going to the folding arch and the new sunshade is just icing on the cake for me and makes the decision that much easier.

They have a picture on their facebook page that shows the arch lowered. In the picture it looks like it is still at least a foot above the windshield but I don't know if it is completely folded or not. I to like the cover whereas my entire family likes the sun!
.....what my wife always tells me:
Spec everything you want, and then cut backwards if you have to.

True enough.. a boat like this usually isn't a short term ownership.
The nickels you save now will cost you dollars later, not to mention the mental pain of shoulda woulda coulda.
We ordered it with everything we thought would make it perfect, and if there any woulda shouldas for us, none are major factory options. They will be easy to add.

Good point,Tuscany. We also tried to be smart about leaving certain things off - the few things we omitted, like dual batteries, are 10x easier to add later than the things we included, like the folding arch with bimini.

Haha Liquid..😂
You are going to have LOTS and LOTS of nice things down the road👍
Including your very own dream boat order. I remember where I was at when my kids were as little as yours. It wasn't t looking stellar, trust me.
You have a hell of a good head start.
