Guys are we talking a reg r6 or surf because this thread was a r6surf topic and this could be very confusing for people like me. Lol
Let's keep it to the R6 Surf model only please.
Also, you guys are twisting my arm into adding a windlass! I'm usually only anchoring in 20' or so of water so not sure it will be worth it other than looking over at the other guys that I tie up with while they are tossing out their anchors as I push the button to lower it. ha!

Just do it. I would all day long.
Also guys let's start a r6 build thread. It's all good!

BTW, the feature I didn't list above was the rear-facing camera. It was about the same cost as the mirror and I thought it would be cool to have. Not sure how the traditional Cobalt folks feel about that though as it is DEFINITELY tech they took from Malibu. I like it, I'm ready for the tech!

I skipped it, but I have been a ski boat driver for many years, so the mirror is good for me.

I think it would be great. Does it record also. That would be the kicker for me.

Apologize for any confusion. All my comments regarding the build were for the R6 Surf.

Very good. maybe it was just me and trim tabs on the surf that confused me. Thanks for clearing that up for me and us.

Thank you and thanks for the suggestions. I actually did add the wireless charger and I am considering the rear facing camera. I am going back and forth on the wakeboard racks- I have a lakefront house/dock.
Is the Captain’s Call a dealer add-on?
Thanks again.
I hated my wake board racks and removed them, kept hitting things (or almost) at gas pumps and docking, and making people duck when pulling them in then several people hit their heads on them when they were in. I am sure they are great if you don't have other options and are on the boat all day. But if you have a lakefront house and easy to swing by and drop off and pick up. That is definitely what I do.

Thanks for the insight. At this time you I am holding off on the wake board racks. Head board storage wasn’t available on the R6 Surf build sheet. Hoping once it is “officially released” it may be available.

You know what would be cool and not sure Cobalt offers it is board storage on top of the binimi. Or have a canvas shop add it. All of the tow boats have this. Yes I removed my board rack also because they hit my garage door just like my tower does.

But they also are not as nice as the factory ones. Still I've seen people forget about them and whack the dock poles going to get gas. Or there slip poles going to the lift? Just a thought.
These are only examples.

If you get the power folding tower with Bimini on the current R3/5/7 it has a canvas top for 2 boards.

Does anyone know if the bow filler cushion option fills the entire bow area since it appears they removed the flip out leg rest that was stored under the starboard side seat on the R5?

Ok, so I have officially got my deposit in on a new R6 Surf! So happy to be joining such an amazing community of people and thanks to all that are hosting and contributing to this forum, it is invaluable to us folks dreaming of a Cobalt!
So I've got a few weeks to lock things in like colors and will do that as soon as the boat hits the "Build a boat" section of the web site which should also happen in a few weeks (leaning classic Cobalt navy and white though) but wanted to see if I'm missing something here with the features I've got priced out. Here's what I'm looking at:
VP 380 (can I get by with a 350??) I know bigger is always better but that would be an easy $7000 to shave off the top if I could.
Mooring Cover
Bow Filler Cushion
Platinum Sound (non-negotiable here...I'm going all in on the audio!)
Sof Trac mat Gunwales
Sof-Trac Floormat
Fixed Arch
Speaker Covers
Docking Lights
Battery charger (110v)
Wireless Phone Charger
Trim Tabs
Platform lighting
Wakeboard Triton Racks
Dinette Table
RGB Lights
Dual Garmin 10" screens
Have I missed anything major here for those that have surf models?
For what its worth, you might check and see if your dealer can get you Samson Spinning wakeboard racks as an add on cheaper than the factory option. My dealer did and saved me roughly $700 on a pair. I believe they are the Typhoon model which was the exact same rack, just not emblem embedded with the Cobalt logo.

Personally, I think the starboard side piece should match the colour of the port side piece. The centreline pieces look OK. This stuff has to eat up a fair bit of storage when not In use though. I wish you could just order the starboard leg support (or the boat had a flip out piece).
