Id say the vast majority of us struggle with that price haha. my first house was 295k and it was a NICE house. I also just bought a truck for less money then the arch hard top option! haha. This is also MSRP which no one would ever pay close to

I will be REALLY interested to see how this does. I like the boat overall but I cannot understand how they think anyone will spend $300k for a boat without an option for twins. If your market is slow-paced families who dont care about speed and performance fine, but if you are that demographic think about how many other options there would be at this price point...and almost all of those with better power plants. This boat weighs almost 1,700 lbs. more than my R7 with almost the exact same max engine. The only difference is my volvo 430 is the older 6.0 generation. I cannot imagine how my boat would perform with an additional 1,700 lbs......I wouldnt think it would be good. This thing has to crappy hole shot for sure.

IDK....I may be missing something but this feels like a risky offering.

I was really hoping the numbers were going to come out closer towards the R7, but with the weight coming in at 7275 thats a lot to push with a single engine. but like you said, maybe we are missing something. Truth is on the water right?

I need to go back and look at the specs for the A28. it may be a better comparison, and that was only ever offered as single engine. never heard anyone say it was ever underpowered.

R7 and A28 are actually within a couple hundred pounds of each other so there is discernible difference....1,700 lbs however IMO is a discernible difference. Math just isnt working for me.

R30 is 7400lbs with a single motor and here is the prop chart. So looking at mid to upper 40's with planing around 5 seconds.

I like the boat overall. There is a ton of innovation in this boat, and the price definitely reflects that. I think Cobalt is counting on it meeting a niche for people who are more of the Bentley/Cadillac type instead of the Corvette/Ferrari type. Mid 40's for a big almost 30' boat will still be respectable. I still like seeing what the best boat builders in the world can come up with. This is definitely a trend setting boat. I'm not a fan of the arch, but I bet that thing is super functional.

Yea so it is more comparable to an R30 than a A28. Thats concerning. And like Tgrace says it will be lucky to see 50 mph. thats going to feel slowwwww for that big of a boat.

That's more than any house I've ever owned or plan to own!!
There's plenty of people out there with that kind of cash. They know that. It's going to be there number 1 seller this year!! I bet everyone they build gets sold.

One thing I really like that I hope future Cobalt's incorporate into their platforms is the Spash 'n Go mat that unfurls/inflates/ and then rewinds back into the boat. We would use that feature quite a bit with our family.

I'm betting the new R series models will have a similar zig zag design. While I don't like the tower/hardtop, I can see how people will order it as it keeps you out of the direct sun and with the extendable shades, provides more comfortable use in all areas of the boat.
