Aborted vacation

Post by Alaskabound »

We had a 4-5 week trip planned to go to the Black Hills area for a week or so then on to Glacier National Park for 2 weeks. We had been watching the fire situation, not just for fires but also for smoke. Not much fun if you can’t see anything. So, after fires broke out on the west side of Glacier, decided to just go to Black Hills (where my idol Yt. has a cabin). So, we left Tuesday, got to the St. Louis area where we settled in a campground and Sandra hurt her back. She felt better Wed. morning but we decided driving another 1,000 miles or so with an aching back was not what the Dr. ordered so we returned home. We may try again in a few weeks but have to be careful with the weather. We have been to Glacier many times but always had to wait until at least mid July because of trails being closed because of snow.

On a positive note, this may give us some extra boating time. Boating time is like money, you can’t have too much!

Man I hate to hear that Dub. It sounds like something you can fix with handful of Ibuprofen and a bottle of single malt. Then just lay her down in the back of that coach and motor down the road. By the time you get there she'll be fine.

Hope she's feeling better soon!

Being no stranger to back and neck pain I can sympathize. Nothing is fun when you're in pain.

Sorry to hear about that, sounds like a very cool trip. Right decision though.

Thanks for all the thoughts. She is much better, we may try again in couple of weeks. I didn’t tell her about the marijuana therapy.

Haa! Jew no wha I tinking about man? I tinking jew name ies RALPH. As wha I tink!

So there we are are, Dub, Tuscany, Driller and Yt in the car, and we get pulled over during therapy. Tuscany and I are trying to be inconspicuous while giggling like little school girls in the back seat, Driller is singing something out about Major Tom and ground control, and Dub is all straightnecked and sophisticated telling the officer what a nice young man he is and "Say, that sure is a shiny badge! Wanna see a picture of my boat?"

It turns out, the officer is A7, who has never said a word in anger and only thinks in terms of rainbows, unicorns and blue skies.

And the other officer on the passenger side is BB, jumping up and down trying to see in the window.

I'm thinking we could blame it on Uncle Dub. And he would get us out of it...
