2020 GMC 2500

Post by Tuscany »

Looks like the designers of the Sierra won’t have to deal with the backlash of the Chevy.
Actually, a very nice looking truck. Buttttt, I’ll be waiting for the new Super Duty...

+1 Super Duty. Best vehicle we have owned even though we have the dreaded 6.4 Powerstroke.

+2 The only way I'll part with my 7.3 is when the 6.7s get down to my price range. Best truck I've ever owned, period. I've had Chevy and Dodge, and it's no comparison in my opinion. I was a Chevy guy my whole life until I got this truck.

You have the best engine ever dropped in a Ford. It suffers from quite possible the worst emissions equipment ever contrived.
Do a full delete, a tune and an exhaust. You won’t believe how easy 350 horses and 22 mpg are made.

I'm glad I bought a 2018 Silverado. The new ones to me are hideous. And I believe they turn the engine off on you at a stoplight! Mine doesn't have that annoying feature. :)

+3 for the Super Duty. Ive owned all of them. Started on dodge which was the worst truck I've ever owned, then went to chevy (08 2500) which was better and I enjoyed until they started designing these cheap funky looking "things" Time to upgrade went to Ford and as soon as I got into the Super Duty it was the best trucks I've owned. Started with 2011 6.7 which was deleted and tuned (Beast). Traded that on a 2016 that I left stock with plans to delete but noticed not needing the diesel as much and wanting some more comfort so traded that in on a 2017 F150 which I love.

My son is in the process of a Ford buyback on a 2017 Ford Focus ST. He is going to get a 2018 Silverado since the new ones are so 'different looking'. I went with him to a couple of Chevy dealers over the weekend and to be honest the 2019's look better in person, but the interior is really cheap looking. In his search for a new Silverado, we have discovered there are a TON of Silverados on dealer lots, 2018's and 2019's.

re: stop start - I get that in a lot of rental cars. I am never able to figure out if/when the engine will turn off. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't, sometimes it restarts if you turn the steering wheel a bit, some of them don't. My Audi doesn't have that 'feature', but the loaners do. The Audi dealer said that 'feature' can be turned off permanently if desired.

Every manufacture stop start feature is diff. Fca is a pain and can only be turned off per ign cycle. I really don't think you gain much from it but we are seeing the little motorcycle battery going bad in them now. And the battery isn't easy to get.

More cost, more weight, added service difficulty, and very little return on economy. This is something the customer never asked for. The EPA and CAFE standards is why we are seeing this. Until it can be disabled, I won't be purchasing anything with it. Driven some cars with it and hated it.

I tell you my Lexus/prius hybrid from EV to engine mode is awesome. They have it figured out. If you didn't know what was going on you couldn't tell the difference. When I was with gm 5 years ago the buicks had it and it was very good also. Fca today is terrible. Just saying I wouldn't want it.

Yeah, my Mother in Law bought a new X5 3.0and it had that feature. It was horrible to drive, laggy and annoying, and honestly dangerous. I disabled it on the way home from the dealership.
