Adding SeaDek???

Post by Mstewart »

Looking at adding SeaDek to our swim deck. They now (beginning in April) put their logo on all their mats, I believe they told me it would be 3” x 8” long? Anybody else found this to be true.

So Seadek adds their logo now? For that reason alone I wouldn't use them. Lots of other choices out there.

Just Google it. Aquamarine is one, and there are several others. It's been discussed here quite a bit in different threads, but you'd have to look.

Up there ↗️ towards the top right you'll see a magnifying glass. Click on it and type in seadek or swimdeck material and you'll find lots of info.
You really just have to look around and see who works best for you.

And Welcome to the forum! Go into new members and tell us about yourself and your boat. Pics are a must or your boat doesn't exist...

Hey mstewart, welcome to the Cobaltchat forum. So glad you found us!

I’m with YTMSN on this one. Not a fan of advertising their name on the product.

There are numerous threads discussing types of swim platform products if you search the site.

Feel free to post an intro thread if you have time.

Again, welcome aboard mate!

Let me guess... someone at Sea Dek got a compliant that customers are tired of answering “What soft track flooring is that?” 🤣🤣

I'll be getting Gatorstep Ultra Marine Mat. They have a line of Cobalt specific templates already on the website.

You have got to be kidding me SeaDek. I am already paying a premium for your product, I dont need to give you free advertising on my boat as well.

Where are you located? We just went through putting SeaDek in our boat and found a very good local installer. He uses SeaDek product but cuts it all himself so no stupid corporate logo.

Sorry can't help - we have a guy that will travel Kentucky / Ohio / TN but KS could be a bit of a hike.

Looks like the closest authorized SeaDek dealer to you is http://www.castawaycustomsmidwest.com/ maybe give them a call?

Wonder if SeaDek is only putting their logo on stuff you order from them direct or if they are requiring their custom fabricators to put the logo on as well. My guess is the first option, but either way its a crappy move on their part. I understand the market place is crowed and they want brand recognition but this isn't the way to go about it imho.

Hmmm...We ordered ours through Castaway in Feb, but it wasn't cut or installed until a couple weeks ago. Never any mention of the logo. That seems odd to me, I could see that turning a lot of people away.

Yep I noticed that on the last member that installed it on his swim platform. Now we know why it was on there. Not a chance in hell I would get it on my boat. I will still put Aqua Marine in mine if I do the cockpit.

yup
Mine was delivered last week and has their logo in the forward port corner. They don't tell you that when you order it. I tried to get the "Cobalt" name on mine but was denied.... They did credit me the $50 after I contacted them by email to remind them.

Did they tell you they were adding that. Was it in the proofs?

Hi
I didn’t get a proof to approve. Maybe due to me ordering a “stock” part from them? They had the platform from a 252 (same as 242 for swim platform) on file so I just ordered it with our color choices.
