Bimini top pools with water

I have a 2006 Cobalt 262 and I'm having problems with the BIMINI cover. When it rains, it pools up with water and the water just sits there. The boat cover under the bimini is tented with poles so the water just runs off. What do I do about the bimini? Since it is only used for shade, I'm thinking about putting some small holes in it to allow for drainage. Dumb idea? Any other ideas?

Do you leave the bimini open, or you're saying it collected water with it rolled up and covered? Pics might help. I wouldn't go poking holes in it.

I leave it open. If it's rolled up and covered there is no water, but it's a pain to do this every time I leave the boat. I agree that poking holes is not a great idea. I'm looking for alternatives.

We always leave ours up with the stainless arch, and we have a covered dock. But the few times I've been caught in rain it does pool up and also runs down right onto the throttles and inside the glass. Have to cover it all with a towel.

I would also agree that holes are probably not a good idea. Need a better way to prop it up while being stored or pull it tighter? Both may be more work than rolling it up though

yeah, it worth the 10 min to roll it up and put the cover on it. In addition to the annoyance of water leaking through, it will stretch the fabric so it won't fit right anymore, and leave stains where the water was standing. If you have the boat covered it's not doing anything to protect anyway.

We've never had our bimini top up in the rain with either our 262 or 263.

What if you put a rolled up ShamWow or Car shammy up there to keep the water from pooling. Not sure it would help being more concentrated in a smaller area with a shammy but worth a shot. Of course the first time you launch and forget it's up there could be an issue.

I had my boat sitting the same way as you and it did the same thing. I rocked the boat sideways to get the water off before I took the cockpit cover off. Then to get the rest off I would use a shammy or a squeegee . Yes it sucks but that's what it is. Yes it's a pain to roll it up each night. I wouldn't either. Also I night 303 to help seal it. It didn't run off. Lol.
Also no way should you put a hole in it.

I always roll mine up. You'll get good at it. For me it's a 5 minute job, and there is no fading.
