New user from Ontario, NY (Just outside Rochester)

Thank you for allowing a, currently up to this point, tire kicker into the group.
I've been a boater for 57 of my 59 years and own a small older boat passed down from my father.
I first fell in love with Cobalt boats several years ago while living in Charlotte, NC and visiting the shop on Lake Norman, NC.
Every year since moving back to the Rochester, NY area, I bring my nephew to the Rochester Boat Show each February and we always make it a point to visit the Cobalt booth last. As my father always said... Save the best for last!

Looking to design and purchase an R3 in the near future. Due to the weed situation and normally shallow water at our pier at my cottage on Port Bay, off of Lake Ontario, (not these past few years with the issues we have with high waters on the Lake Ontario), the surf editions just wouldn't work well out with the normal depths of water we have. I have a fairly large extended family who enjoys skiing and especially tubing. Since I have no wakeboarders or surf enthusiasts, I'm not sure an arch makes monetary sense. I love the look, but would rather spend the money on an engine upgrade. I probably wouldn't even order a bimini top, we're an on the water, back to the cottage type of family.

I look forward to conversing with everyone and am open to any and all suggestions.

So as someone that boats the same style as you. Except the shallow water part. I got the folding arch just because I like the look of the boat and the Bimini on the folding arch is larger than the standard bimini. Where I boat at Table Rock we get 95+ degree days with 50% humidity so having shade is a must. Just food for thought. After discounts it is not a terrible cost for one and will help resale.

Welcome. No matter what order a binimi. It will be a must for the next owner. I didn't use mine much till I got a boat with a tower.but still a resale must. Ours hung in the garage 90 percent of the time.
