Removing side panel

I should have just posted here, since there are like four A25 owners on the board.

Can anyone help me get this *&#! panel off so I can fix the bimini mount again?

Mark is it all enclosed above that quilted piece. I don't know if the bottom half holds in place part of the top piece. Or can the top piece come off by itself, I don't knew your boat well enough but can you get to it from the head area of you take some trim off in there. Pictures of that area?

Hi Mark,

I recently attempted to access this area as well and similar to what you're noticing that panel does not come off, or I couldn't figure it out either. Tight access can be found by removing the carpeted bulkhead in the compartment behind that seat (where the battery switch is located) or the same by removing the carpet bulkhead under the bow seat.

Not sure if I can help you, but I have a similar issue in reverse kind of. That panel is loose on my 2014 R5 (if you grab the bottom of the hand rest, you can pull the whole panel up and about a 1/2 inch from the side, but not completely remove it) so I called Cobalt today and as I was talking to them about some other things on my warranty, I asked about that panel.

The guy told me to start by removing the speaker which is below that area on my R5 and hope your arm is skinny and long enough. Of course, you will be working 99% by feel which will be a challenge. Another option is to go into the head area and remove the switch panel. Again, I can picture what he is talking about and I think it will be an option, but I haven't tried either yet and both will require a lot of "feel", but removing that panel seems like it will give you an opening to that area.

I would recommend that you have retrieval tools/magnets/lights/claws etc. because it will be tight and you will drop things. I have already done some work to put the nut back on my adjustable back rest on the starboard side seat and there aren't any easy/comfortable ways to go about it. Just be patient and try to have air moving because it will be hot.

I will post pics if I try to mess with it this weekend.

Here is a pic of that area on my boat. It is going to be difficult to get on my back, reach into that speaker hole, go up, feel around, etc. etc. So, I will hope that works or I can get to it from the head switch panel. It has been over a hundred every day in Dallas, so that is going to bite anyway it goes.

But, storage unit boating is still better than yard work or house work.
