Looking for nice R5 or 24SD

Post by atlandrew »

Just sold a 2011 Four Winns H200 and looking to move to a Cobalt (we had almost bought the Cobalt 200 back in 2011 and always said we make the move someday).

Looking for a low hours R5 or would look at the 24SD as well. Main things we are looking for is more space, the lounge/sunpad, and head/toilette.

Seems like a hot season for these boats -- I've been making calls on anything I find on boattrader and finding most stuff is already sold (both new and used).

I am willing to do transport
Budget is max ~90k

Hey AD. Welcome to the CobaltChat forum. So glad you found us!

It is an incredible boat market for sellers right now. Prices have sky rocketed due to the demand as boats are sold quickly (both new and used).
Maybe someone here will send you a PM for a quick sale and then purchase a different Cobalt.

Is there an engine size for which you are searching?

Btw, be sure to post pics if you purchase. ...and feel free to post your Four Winns pic.

Thanks for the warm welcome. We ended up finding a 2020 R5 new that we couldn't pass up.

Shale with ebony stripe and the tahoe gray interior. I can't wait to get it in the water and see how she goes!

I am impressed by the finish and quality of materials compared to the Four Winns. That was a great boat for us and I'm sure this Cobalt will be even better :-)

Very nice, let’s see some interior shots, not sure I’ve seen the Tahoe Grey.

My wife said "no brown!" so finding the Tahoe Gray with the sea grass was the right combo!

So the gray is just the accent color? Vinyl looks white to me, but the grey Seagrass looks awesome. You usually only see it in the tan, but I may like the grey better!

That's right - the gray is the color on the dash/head, accent color, and the Seagrass. The vinyl on the seats is white.

Great boat.
Welcome. There's a 2020 R3 with same inside color scheme at our marina. Pretty boat. Love the shale color.

We are on Lake Lanier just outside Atlanta. Quite a difference in ride and comfort having a 25' boat on this lake when it's busy compared the (barely) 20' Four Winns H200 we sold.

This one came with the VP350, premium sound, sea grass, docking lights, RGB interior lights, dual batteries, and the mooring cover. If I had ordered a custom boat, the only changes I would have made would be -- get a table (which we've already ordered), the EZ Fold bimini (we are in dry stack without a spot for the extra height), and the bow + cockpit snap on cover instead of mooring cover. None of these were deal breakers for us on a great boat with the right colors, power, and other options.

Many people here talk about getting the bigger engines on the R5 (380 "minimum") -- I would not hesitate to get this boat again with the 350. It is more than enough power even with 6 adults, coolers, gear. Cruising at 25 - 35mph is nearly effortless and we have no place we're going to make a top speed run or go for a race.
