Re&Re Alpha 1 Gen 1 leg

Post by Bill Jolly »

Having a lot of trouble re-installing the leg on my 78 Cobalt, Alpha 1 Gen 1 Mercruiser. We did it 3 times yesterday. First time, started it up and got clicking noise when in neutral. Second time we we put the boat in reverse, installed it, couldn't get it out of reverse. Did it again this time in forward same thing, can't get it out of forward. Anybody got any tricks and tips on how to get the leg on??

Sounds like a cable adjustment to me.

Hey BJ...welcome to the Cobaltchat forum. So glad you found us!

Like bbp said it seems like your shift cable needs adjusted.

I do have to say that you’re the first to ever post a gif of your Cobalt on the site. Did you convert one of your pics?

Again welcome aboard mate!
