Next Stereo upgrade

I've been convinced to look at the next possible improvement.
Looking at a 12" JL audio subwoofer and appropriate amp.
Last year we replaced the Sony head unit and 6.5' dolphin speakers with a Fusion head unit, 4 6.5" JL speakers, 2 8.8' JL speakers and an 800 watt JL amp. Awesome, massive improvement. And yet...
What size amp do you recommend for a single 12" sub?
I'm going to stay JL due to my satisfaction so far...
I have been really impressed by the bass output of the 8.8" speakers, wondering about the difference in sound with a good sub setup?
Looking for some advice!

The JL 12" is a 4 ohm sub, so the M600/1 only puts out 400W at 4 ohm. You need 2 ohm to get the full 600W.

The M1000/1 will put out 600W at 4 ohm

The MHD 750/1 puts out 750W at any ohm rating.

The JL 12" is an infinite baffle sub, which means it doesn't need an enclosure. BUT, it does need to be sealed air tight from the front of the sub to the back if you install it as an infinite baffle. Otherwise you can install it into a large sealed or ported enclosure. JL has box dimensions for both if you decide to go that route.

Mine is a 3 cu ft sealed box.

I'll bet my wife could hear the music from her bow seat.
One of the few things that I don't like about our R3 is that people in the bow seating block the front speakers if the lean to the outside.

Do I consider the passenger compartment on the port side a sealed enclosure, or open space?

If it's not air tight, it's not sealed.

You don't need to be sealed air tight for infinite baffle. You don't want the sound wave created on the back of the speaker meeting up with the sound wave created on the front of the speaker as they would cancel each other out and degrade the over all performance.
