2017 r7 Bimini extension

Post by BryanMiami »

I have a 2017 R7 with fixed tower. Having zero luck with getting an answer from the local dealer. Looking for guidance on how to extend the Bimini 4-5 feet to the back. Is there an OEM part? Aftermarket?

Hey BM...so glad you found us!

Nice pic. How about a custom umbrella by slideruleracer to fit into a ski pylon hole?

Btw, how is she powered?

And welcome aboard mate!

Thanks for the umbrella idea. Really looking for something fixed that can be in place while cruising.

Anyone aware of a product that could attach to the tower?

Found someone to fabricate the Sunbrella material. What I need is the metal hardware to attach to the Arch.

Any idea where I can get the part circled in orange?

Check with a Chapperal, SeaRay or Monterey dealer. I see them on those boats all the time and you may be able to adapt something. It can be done. I saw one fabbed to the back of a 262 arch and was going that route until I did the umbrella thing..
Good luck and show us what you do if you go custom!

Those are also fabbed by marine canvas places. Just have to find the right one that can do it.

TaylorMade makes a lot of the bimini hardware - it's just a matter of finding an installer/fabricator (assuming you're not the DIY type). Check out:

https://www.taylormadeproducts.com/products/biminis

and their retailer locator at:

The one circled has a different type of tower than yours. To retrofit your tower with a larger bimini would be a custom Job.
